G-LUXE umbrella stroller {UPPAbaby}

I think I will stop looking at lightweight strollers altogether now.  The UPPAbaby G-LUXE is the ultimate in style and comfort for both parent and baby, a real stand-out umbrella stroller, sent for review.

Whenever I’m testing out a lightweight stroller I try to go easy on my criticism, after all, it is a lightweight stroller and cannot be judged alongside a full.  But, the UPPAbaby G-LUXE, an umbrella stroller, sure gives them a run for their money and completely knocks out any comparable competition.  Here are the outstanding points of the G-LUXE:

  • recline + adjustable footrest (hello, naptime on the go)
  • easily fold + stands on its own
  • enormous extendable SPF 50+ sunshade
  • stain and water-resistant, removable seat pad (machine washable!)

Recently I came across a rather expensive lightweight that has nice curb appeal. It is unique looking but falls short on so many fronts, including convenience and comfort (and forget about storage!). It was the perfect way to preface the arrival of my UPPAbaby G-LUXE, which just blew me away.

Of course, I want a stroller that is easy to maneuver, comfortable on the hands and has convenient cup holders and storage areas, but my #1 concern is the precious cargo and his comfort.  If Gabriel is not happy, no one is happy (which has been very apparent this past week with a serious bout of teething and diaper rash).  One glance and anyone can see the G-LUXE is a plush spot for baby to sit or sleep.  In fact, that has been the most popular comment from neighbors and strangers — “my, how comfortable that stroller looks!”  It is due to the thick, removable seat pad, a far cry from the typical umbrella stroller seating.  It is stain and water-resistant, but if something happens to mess it up, you can remove the pad and throw it in the washing machine — the washing machine!!

The three level recline and adjustable footrest also aid in baby’s comfort, giving the option of naptime on the go.  My son snoozes hard in this stroller, having no issues whatsoever falling and staying asleep.

We live in the scorching hot desert that offers very little shade, so the sunshade is a crucial factor for us when choosing a stroller.  It is too hot for blankets most days and my baby really dislikes the after-market sunshades that block his entire view.  The basic sunshade of the G-LUXE is really great but it also comes with an extendable shade… It shades your entire baby!  The sunshade is SPF 50+ ensuring maximum sun protection.  I cannot be more appreciative of this feature living where we do.

so easy to push, big sis can do the job!

The attention to detail features are what make this stroller so exceptional, and a total steal at $220.  Details like the comfortable carrying strap, the easy (hand only) fold and the ability to stand on its own when folded… the tall ergonomic handles that make pushing a breeze, and the colors… I love bright shades, especially orange, so the Ani is a perfect fit.  UPPAbaby also offers the G-LUXE in Makena (purple), Sebby (blue), Denny (red) and Jake (black).

    Hi there Karen! So good to hear from you. Thanks so much for the food for thought here, I think you bring up some great points! Social media referrals have kind of an in-between role for us, I’d say, in that they bring in traffic (a big goal for the blog) but aren’t our only traffic source. I’d love to get better at social media, personally, so I can share tips & strategies with more confidence!

    As someone that has been in Social Media for some time now but has needed a fresh perspective on measuring all of the different “levels”, this was the best article ive ever read on the matter.
