string gardens {DIY desperation}

When my peepers hit these “string gardens” I knew I was in love.  Butterflies filled my stomach as I researched around, coming across more and more gorgeous string gardens.  They are made Fedor van der Falk by using a three dimensional crochet filled with plaster, soil, moss, and grass.  I imagine the plaster somehow keeps them from leaking all over your floors.  This is going to be a big trial and error DIY.   All kinds of plants can be grown in these master gardens, even trees!  I’m excited to start the trials of making my own (cross your fingers).  If my hopes and dreams are dashed by this DIY desperation, I’ll just have to wait and pick some up next time I happen to be in Amsterdam.   They are sold at Pompon.  Give it a go of your own!
