Motorola MBP36S Video Baby Monitor {spying on babies}

I’m going to go out on short limb here to say I am an expert on baby monitors.  I have tried, perhaps literally, all that have been available in the US in the last couple of years.  I had triumphs, I had failures.  I’ve experienced the issues, the breakdowns, the static, the installation nightmares… and now, I’ve just found the easiest to install and operate monitor.  I can say with certainty, this is it.  I’m done.

My son.  OH, my son.  He is a different experience than my sweet baby girl (who is now 7 going on 17)… like a 180 degree, screeching tire turn-around difference.  Whereas I could turn my head for a minute while my daughter played quietly with her toys, this kid must be under a watchful eye at all moments.  He’s a nut and is completely a danger to himself.

He climbs (ladders), jumps (off ledges), throws (rocks at windows), tears (everything he can), bashes (his head into people), kicks (balls over fences), hits (us all), eats (rocks, dirt) and sommersaults (across the yard) with reckless abandon.  He also runs faster than his feet can handle… *face-plant*.

Don’t get the wrong idea — he’s a total sweetheart.  Apple of my eye, he is my smiley cuddle-partner and he stole my whole heart a long time ago — but still — total danger to himself and those around him.

Needless to say, if he is in his bedroom alone or with his sister, I’m eyein’ that monitor the whole time.  Nap time can easily turn into play time which can turn into full-fledged ASSAULT (without intent of course).  Oh BOYS!

Remember my Top 5 Toddler Sleep Essentials post?  In there I listed the Motorola MBP36S video baby monitor as an essential primarily due to its lullaby-playing capabilities.  What a unique feature, right?  Well there is so much more to this gorgeous monitor you need to know.

This video monitor has two-way communication without any crackles or static – I’m talking crystal clear. While you are viewing the full color LCD screen, you can remotely pan, tilt and zoom to find your baby or tot – no matter where in the room they venture to!   My kid likes to sleep on the floor by the door, so I’m often searching for him via the pan feature!

The room is easy to view no matter how bright or dark thanks to the infrared night vision. With the picture- in-picture feature, you can keep an eye on multiple rooms, which is pretty awesome for those with multiple babes (up to FOUR).  Luckily, my other child is 7, nearly 8, so I don’t monitor her room anymore.  Honestly, I don’t want to know what she does in there!

Some other great features: room temperature display, plays 5 lullabies, sound level indicator, Range up to 590 feet with out of range indicator, volume control, FLIP OUT STAND on parent unit and a rechargeable battery.
