a kids show with girl power {Annedroids}

Sometimes I really question the content quality of popular kids TV shows.  I suggest you sit in and view the shows your children are watching and judge for yourself. I’ve found the fictional characters lean towards the sassy and sarcastic side and the strength of moral lessons is weak.  A new show from Amazon Studios, though, has both my 7 year old daughter and I on an episode marathon!

Having debuted July 25th, Annedroids is Amazon Studios’ third original kids series.  Aimed at kids aged 4-7, Annedroids is a science based-action adventure series that follows eleven-old genius and kid-scientist Anne.  My daughter loved that the main character was not only a girl, but also smart and a science-lover like herself.  Anne has invented and built androids and along with her two friends, Nick and Shania, makes amazing scientific discoveries. We’re no strangers to Amazon Prime Instant Video.  My husband and I have purchased seasons of shows there before they were available on other mediums, and now our daughter gets to join in on the fun.  We watch out Instant Video purchases through our Xbox, but you can view on an assortment of game consoles, compatible TVs and mobile devices.  My daughter loves that she can grab the iPad and go watch her show outside!

My daughter was instantly hooked on the show.  When I told her we had the whooooole season ready to watch, her eyes bulged.  As I type, she’s binging in her bedroom on Annedroids!  With such a positive message about dreaming big and girl power forever, I’m certainly happy she’s watching.  Anne is a great role model for young girls (and boys too, of course!) and I bet she will inspire my daughter to explore new scientific experiments, so she can be just like Anne.

Check out Annedroids and get scientific!

    Will have to check this show out. Glad to see that networks are leaping out of the stereotypical “girl” shows and giving us better content to watch!

    I have never heard of this show before. I love the concept and love that it is girls not boys involved in science!
