pressed for time? {Imusa Panini Maker} + giveaway

I was instantly dazzled when I opened the box to the Imusa Panini Maker.  This thing is the Cadillac of sandwich presses!  It is so sleek and shiny, and its beauty goes well beyond its appearance.  The “floating hinge system” causes the top of the press to rest lightly on the food, so that the sandwich evenly cooked on both sides. There is also a lock and cord wrap for easy storage – they thought of everything.  The non-stick surface enables you to cook without buttering your bread, saving calories for whatever you decide put inside that bread.  This is where you can get really creative!  We started out making a variation of the a Reuben sandwich. We used buttermilk bread, pastrami, sauerkraut, sharp cheddar cheese, and a hint of mustard. I love all of these components, separately, but when you put them together and press them between two properly heated non-stick surfaces…. Wow! You are in for treat! The bread was perfect after just three minutes.. golden brown and so crispy. The kids loved it too.

The panini press is great for all kinds of fast meal solutions, while keeping it healthy without adding oil or butter.  After a busy day at the playground, worn out from chasing the girls, I picked up some panko-crusted pre-cooked chicken breasts from Trader Joe’s.   About four minutes on the Imusa and voilà!  The breasts were deliciously crispy and heated through. Simply cook up some rice or noodles, steam some veggies, and you have a complete meal you and your kids will love!  This press is absolutely wonderful for the busy family.  Imusa is a leader in Latin cookware.   One visit to their website will show you why.
