gifts for celebrating woman awesomeness

In 1987 Congress declared March National Women’s History Month to honor the achievements of women today and of the past. While we all have our female superheroes, it’s a time to recognize our own achievements and those of our fellow mommas! I have been talking a LOT about self-care lately, mostly as a reminder to myself to keep it up. Moms have the most important role – to make the future a brighter one by raising incredible humans. If you’re looking to show your appreciation to the women in your life or yourself, I’ve got a few recommendations. These products truly represent the female spirit!
When I’m shopping watches for women, I usually look for something stylish yet fit for my active lifestyle. A little bit tough, a little but lady – ya know? The G-SHOCK S Series GMAS120MF-2A2 Watch from Casio perfectly represents those features. Created for the active woman who wants a watch that can go from the trail to the street, this unisex look with attractive colors (helloooo rose gold!) is really perfect. I’m obsessed! It comes equipped with features such as 200M water resistance, auto LED light, 4 daily alarms, 1/100th second stopwatch, and countdown timer.
When I think of self-care, the first thing that always comes to mind is a trip to the spa. I’ve been relying a lot lately on a professional massage or facial to ease my stress and uplift my mood. If you’re not sure where to go, Hand & Stone Massage & Facial Spa is a perfect place to start for affordable luxury. With over 400 locations around the country, there’s bound to be a great spa near you. Hand & Stone offers professional massage, facial and hair removal services, tailored to your needs. I love this spot because locations are open 7 days a week with extended hours available to fit your schedule. The Swedish massage is the most popular and right now you can take advantage of the introductory offer: $49 or $59 for the Swedish massage based on location. Check Hand & Stone locations near you here.
My second thought for self-care is always a good book. When you’re a mom, nothing is more valuable than peace and quiet. I never knew how precious SILENCE was until after my second child. Not only do I enjoy cuddling up with a new book, but I also love sharing that book with my girlfriends and then discussing it! Lately I’ve been reading a lot of books for women – story and messaging centered around female empowerment, female journeys, and family based book best sellers. I have a few new ones from Harlequin to begin soon:
- Call Your Daughter Home by Deb Spera — Set in 1924 South Carolina, Call Your Daughter Home is a tour de force novel exploring injustices surrounding race, class, and poverty in the years leading up to the Great Depression, as told by three fierce, unforgettable Southern women.
- The Cliff House by RaeAnne Thayne — After the death of their mother, sisters Daisy and Beatriz Davenport found a home with their aunt Stella in the beautiful and welcoming town of Cape Sanctuary. Adults now, they must maneuver through ex-husbands, family secrets and the power of taking chances in this heartwarming story where they’ll discover that the path to true happiness is filled with twists and turns, but love always leads them back home.
- The Bookshop of Yesterdays by Amy Meyerson — Bighearted and trenchantly observant, The Bookshop of Yesterdays is a lyrical story of family, love and the healing power of community. It’s a love letter to reading and bookstores, and a testament to how our histories shape who we become.

Not to be cliché, but it is no secret that women love shoes. Earth shoes are a favorite of mine because they are cute and the MOST comfortable shoes ever. The footbeds feature heal to toe cushioning with reinforced arch support giving you a “walk on clouds” feel. Another big perk for me is how eco-friendly Earth shoes brand is. The signature Earth shoes are made with more responsible water-based adhesives and vegetable tanned leathers. The packaging is glue-free, staple-free and constructed to use as little material as necessary. Huge bonus: Earth Shoes plants a tree with every purchase.
The pair I’m wearing is Khaya Kella in black. I love the vintage 70’s vibe and the comfortable walk. Adding a bit of height, the Khaya Kella spring shoe style is perfectly paired with skinny jeans, a jumpsuit or any flowy dress.
Skincare is an ongoing obsession for women and there’s nothing quite like finding a new product that really works for your skin. My skin doesn’t tolerate just any product. It tends to be on the dry, sensitive side so I have to be careful and only choose clean beauty products. Of course when Aunt Flow comes to town, my skin changes into skin I don’t even recognize. Knowing that hormones play a big role in skin appearance, Knours has created natural, cruelty-free and EWG Verified™ products to help alleviate period-related skin issues.
This week I have been using Knours Your Only Cleanser, an oil to foam formula that cleanses skin twice for the perfect clean. This hybrid cleanser starts off as an oil to dissolve makeup (because we all know only oil can remove makeup) and then transforms into a foam cleanser for a non-stripping double-cleanse. It is truly amazing!
Moms should always support other moms (especially when cocktails are involved) and that brings me to my final must-have women’s gift: ROOT artisanal cocktail mixers. Two moms, a shaker and a dream – ROOT artisanal cocktail mixers are handcrafted by two moms using all natural, organic ingredients that perfectly pair with any spirit. Packaged in a beautiful burlap bag, this Hibi Hibi ROOT mixer and copper shaker make a perfect gift for any mom, including yourself!
The ROOT Hibi Hibi flavor is a mixture of freshly brewed hibiscus tea, blended with lemon, lime, sugar, elderflower syrup and just a touch of honey. Shake it up with vodka and serve with fresh herbs like rosemary or basil. Just remember: 2 parts ROOT, 1 part spirit. Since the ingredients are so natural and sophisticated, this artisanal cocktail mixer is also amazing with club soda, over ice, in a mocktail the whole family can enjoy! Best news yet, ROOT Hibi Hibi artisanal cocktail mixers are available for Amazon Prime!
