fall road trip preparations
I can’t stop gushing about this new fall weather coming! My family is an outside-adventuring breed so when the heat of August keeps us indoors, we all get a bit grumpy. Time to head out on the road to discover new places and experience new and wonderful things here in Southern California, Arizona and beyond!
We recently had a preview of coming cooler weather as the day highs dropped down into the 90s. That may not seem very cool to most of you, but for us desert rats, it is like being able to breathe again. Unfortunately, the weather spiked back up and our highs this week are 107-108 … ugh … but I have seen the light and soon fall will be here to stay!
We did manage to capitalize on the weather break, though, and headed up to Joshua Tree. If you follow the blog, you’ll know we spend a lot of time up there! I have been obsessed with Joshua Tree ever since we started coming out to Palm Springs about 9 years ago. Now we live here, so I take a ride up there as much as possible. The landscape is just so unique. The rocks are begging to be climbed, the fresh air is ready to be breathed and the sunsets… well they are just in a league of their own.
With the amount of road trips we have planned for fall, I’ve been doing some preparations. On one of the cooler nights last week, I pulled on my adult pants, grabbed our carpet steamer (which has a hose attachment) along with a vacuum/various cleaners and cleaned the car top to bottom, back to front. The thing looks pristine. *pats self on back* This multi-hour cleaning session was topped off with a new treatment – the PERK treatment.
For someone like myself who lights candles daily, constantly has plugged in scented oil in every room and obsesses over new perfumes, you’d think I had an auto air freshener already. You’d be wrong, though. PERK Vent Wrap are completely rocking my road-tripping world. These vent air fresheners are so discreet – no hanging green trees allowed in my car. Their StediScent™ technology delivers consistent, high-quality fragrance so the fragrance is always there, but never overwhelming.
These individually wrapped air fresheners simply wrap around a vent blade and they basically disappear at that point. No one will know why your car just smells so heavenly! Unlike other vent air fresheners, they don’t block the vent air and don’t require the vents to be on to work. I have four different scents to test out: golden vanilla, Caribbean colada, summer berry and new car. If I had to pick a favorite, I’d go with Caribbean colada, though they all smell awesome!
Find PERK products at variety of stores where auto air fresheners are sold, like Walmart and CVS. Before you head out, print this $1 off PERK coupon! Want to win a PERK gift basket including a 6 month supply of product? Enter below! Keep in the know by liking PERK’s Facebook page!
