empowering expectant couples {40 Weeks movie}

This post is brought to you by the 40 Weeks movie and The Motherhood. All opinions are my own.

Pregnancy is so different for everyone, a unique experience that should be documented. A large majority of us start off with great intentions of logging every week of our pregnancies, in photos, journals and scrapbooks.  Well life gets in the way sometimes, doesn’t it?  I did better the second time around with my last child, Gabriel.  Against my doctor’s wishes, every 2-4 weeks I got up from my strict bedrest and took a photo of my belly profile… but this new 40 Weeks movies takes it to a new level!

When you begin to think about starting your own family, there are so many questions, so many fears and unknowns.  As humans we are driven to take the leap no matter what though, it is just programmed into us to create.  What I found most comforting and strengthening was hearing and seeing other women’s experiences during their pregnancies – the good and the bad.  Being prepared for the inevitable is pretty crucial to an enjoyable pregnancy.

Husband and wife team Christopher Henze and Dominique Debroux created Big Belli LLC to produce the 40 Weeks movie.  This movie was designed to empower, educate and create a sense of community for expectant moms.  In the film, universal milestones of pregnancy are presented with the personal experiences of the film’s unique and amazing expectant couples. They come from diverse backgrounds as to click with a variety of mom-to-bes and reassure them that they are not alone.  Since pregnancy is such a personal experience, it is easy to feel alone, I know I did.

To ensure all health information is accurate and up-to-date, 40 Weeks teamed up with the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses, and the March of Dimes, the most respected non-profit organization dedicated to helping moms have full-term pregnancies and healthy babies.

Big Belli is partnering with Gathr to bring screenings to theaters across the country.  Go to this website to find and sign up to hold a screening or be notified if one is coming to your area. Big Belli and Gathr will support you in reaching out to your friends, family and community to create a successful event.
