{DIY} Crayon Heart Valentine’s

Every year I’m scrambling to find adorable and unique Valentine’s for my daughter to bring to school. Every year I seem to end up caving and settling for those Willy Wonka Valentine’s with the Nerds and other candies on them. I’m sure the parents love the sugar rush I give their child. This year, I love this idea from The Long Thread where she created a printable that you can print out for free and provides directions on how to create some adorable little mixed color crayons from all of those broken crayons you all have. I seem to have an entire bucket full. Take this advice from me and do not purchase the Crayola crayon maker. The bulky device went right into the trash a few hours after I opened the box. Junk! You’ll get better results from heading over to Target or any other store and purchasing some heart shaped candy molds.¬†Simply spray them with a little oil and you pop em in the oven at 275 degrees for 7 – 8 mins. The parents will all thank you for not giving their kids candy and your kids will love helping to make all the crayon hearts and taking paper off of the crayons. Great project for everyone! Head over to The Long Thread here for the entire tutorial and other great ideas!
