manicures and music {daughter dates} + giveaway

My husband can have some very late work hours so from dinner-bedtime, my daughter and I spend lots of quality time together.  Once her baby brother goes to bed around 6:30, it’s just the two of us.  We play games, watch movies, read books, craft and, of course, have spa nights! It’s pretty nice, especially because the baby takes up almost all of my attention all day and sometimes I feel like I don’t give her enough one-on-one in the day. piggy paints in_the_know_mom Last night we watched The Croods and crafted yarn pompoms for the mantle (check out my Instagram for that) so tonight felt like a music and manicure night.  Step one, turn on MOG, like Pandora but infinitely better.  Savannah had full reign of the music, so after the mandatory run through One Direction and Frozen, she moved onto Lorde (she’ll never be a roooooyalll). Step two, bring out the manicure kit.  I’m the kind of person who has to have everything in one place, so we have a mom-daughter manicure kit.  This is where I keep nail polishes safe for Savannah and all other necessary items.  The Piggy Paints Color Me Happy Box works perfectly for this.  Just add a buffer, cuticle cream and other little manicure must-haves. piggy paints manicure box in_the_know_mom Step three, snacks.  Obvi! daughter date in_the_know_mom When it comes to my daughter, I’m way pickier about everything that goes in her or on her.  Strictly natural nail polishes for that girl and Piggy Paints are just what I’ve been wanting.  They are “natural as mud” yet highly pigmented colors that go on smooth and last and last.  Can’t beat that.  With a bottom and top coat, Piggy Paint nails will stay chip-free all week.  Even without a base, they do pretty well, standing up to my daughter’s active lifestyle. Right now, Savannah is Elsa (Frozen) obsessed, like every other little girl.  Blue is her NEW favorite color for everything due to this fact, and she has been wearing shades of blue for weeks now.  Tonight was no different.  Tea For Two was just what she wanted.  I can tell we will be reapplying this one until it’s gone! piggy paints review in_the_know_mom There are seven other vibrant colors in the Color Me Happy gift set, for those who can choose one other than blue!  I happen to be fond of the emerald color, Ice Cream Dream. ice cream dream in_the_know_mom Other colors included: Sweet, Jazz It Up, Dragon Tears, Girls Rule!, Forever Fancy, Mac-n-Cheese Please and Tea Party for Two — a whole rainbow for you and your daughter to have MANY a mani daughter date night!
