date night: tiki taco Tuesday and onion ring towers

When Tuesday rolled around last week, I knew it was time for a date night.  Tuesday means Tiki Taco Tuesdays at a local tiki bar here in Palm Springs.  On Tuesday, you can get three tiki-themed tacos and a drink for $12… need I say more?  So I pulled together a date night outfit, tried my best to create some winged eyeliner (failed) and emergency dialed our favorite babysitter!

I have been very blessed lately to be able to date night pretty often.  Since Neil works as a commercial photographer with a big focus on food, he shoots for basically every restaurant and resort here in the valley.  This leads to lots of invites out! I think this has been very good for our marriage – to get away from everything for a moment and just celebrate our relationship.

As young parents, you would imagine my laundry nightmares are mostly kid-created.  You would think, but you would think wrong.  I am the worst offender, especially when I am out anywhere in public.  It is inevitable that I will come home with soy sauce on my silk or sangria on my suede.  I just can’t help myself and Tiki Taco Tuesday was no exception.  While trying to capture the moment for you guys, I sloshed my mocktail on my fabulous red jumpsuit, which is luckily machine washable in cold water.  Over time, I’ve reduced the amount of dry clean only garments that I purchase, because – what a pain!  Sometimes you have to make life easier on yourself.  Accidents happen though, always will, so I keep a beefed up arsenal of stain fighters.  My long-time trusted favorite brand and their Shout® Trigger Triple-Acting Stain Remover product keeps my garments stain-free. You’d think I would have learned my lesson, but then the next date night rolled around.  New venue, new menu, same inevitable stains.

This time, it was a Friday and I was feeling froggy.  I wanted an onion tower.

I also wanted one of my favorite dishes EVER, a “California Roll” reimagined.  It is a crispy rice cake topped with California roll (the sushi roll) ingredients… just amazing.  I always hate stuffing my mouth full with huge sushi roll pieces while on a date, so this dish is a dream – fork and knife please!

See that amazing sauce on the plate?  Yeah it ended up on one of my favorite DVF wrap dresses…

Shout® Trigger Triple-Acting Stain Remover works in three steps – clings, penetrates and lifts away stains.  I try to catch stains as quickly as possible, but Shout® Trigger works on even set stains (meaning I can keep enjoying my date night and worry about laundry later).  Safe for all colorfast washables, I don’t have to worry about using it on my favorite items, even the red jumpsuit.  It also works in all temperatures of water so whites, darks, whatever – bring it on!

Find Shout® Trigger Triple-Acting Stain Remover in Walmart in the cleaner aisle.  Be sure to keep in the know with Shout® and the new generation of stains on Twitter and Facebook – and go ahead, order another mai tai, Shout® has got you covered!
