Boho Maternity From Australia {Fillyboo}

Fillyboo Maternity california halter dress What is it with these Aussies?  I feel like every time I find a product I really cannot live without, it hails from down under.  The lucky ducks there are just beginning their warm season and the gorgeous apparel reflects this.  Based on the one of a kind boho chic designs by Australia’s own Fillyboo, there are a lot of well-dressed moms-to-be sauntering around the sunny country.

Boho can be a tricky animal.  What one is looking to achieve here is an effortless beauty, a free-flowing form that is too chic for their own good.  Boho gone wrong leaves one looking shapeless and messy, which should be avoided especially while pregnant.  I bring up a good point here (thank you, Sarah).  When your body is growing, the last thing you want to do is appear larger than you actually are, feeling like the hippo you do.  But you also want to be comfortable, free from the tight restraints of elasticized maternity.  Enter, Fillyboo.

My jaw dropped when I first heard of this rouge maternity apparel line, Fillyboo.  The breezy kaftans, light in weight and color, bring a bit of elegant dreaminess to the line.  And the maxi dresses.  The maternity market can not have enough of the maxi dress, aka a pregnant woman’s best friend.  Streamlining, curve-huggers that they are, maxis are a wardrobe staple and Fillyboo has a slew of horizontal-striped ones to accentuate your beautiful baby bumps.  But when I needed to chose an item to cherish from the line, there really was little question for me.  And so the hyper-gorgeous, ultra-feminine halter dress that is the California was headed across the ocean to its rightful home in the states, California to be exact.

The California is a dress to live in.  Constructed from soft jersey, it is incredibly comfortable.  A simple and stunning design, this dress compliments a bumpy body such as mine very well.  To oomph up the femininity a bit, a layer of chantilly lace hangs beautifully over the bodice.  The whole dress has a certain flow to it, giving you that desired swish as you walk, the jersey cascading in an effortless manner.  It’s pretty.  Options are always good and this dress has two: halter or strapless, you decide.  I pair the California with large earrings and it seems to create a gyspy-like look.  And for breezy nights, a cropped leather or denim jacket pairs quite well.  A pair of flats and you are one chic lady.

Fillyboo maternity is everything I have been looking for this pregnancy. It is unlike any other maternity line on the market, fulfilling the feminine free spirit we should still be able to highlight.  For simple, soulful pieces, shop at Fillyboo, who just newly ships to the US, lucky us, for a flat rate of just $7.50!  Brilliant.
