what to expect at a spa {Marriott Destinations}

Christmas is here and soon we will be thinking about the New Year.  A popular New Year’s resolution is to travel more, with and without family.  Maybe “me time” is on your list, a rare commodity but an important one to prioritize.  When mom is happy and relaxed, everyone is a bit happier and relaxed.  Right?

I happen to live in a “resort town” called Palm Springs, a city dotted with golf courses, resorts, country clubs, hot springs, casinos and spas offering every treatment known to man.  But even living in Pamper City, USA, I rarely take the time I deserve for myself.  I don’t need to runaway to Dubai for a week (though that would be nice) but a spa afternoon or weekend sans kids here and there is a must.  The kids love babysitters anyway!

So this is one of my New Year resolutions, to love myself more and throw a little money at massages, facials and exotic wraps.  Hey, I’m dangerously close to turning 30 so I need to go overtime on the spa treatments!  When I was younger, I remember being intimidated to even go into a spa.  They all have different rules, and etiquette and most around here are massive and confusing to navigate. People often also assume all spas are extravagantly priced, and some are, but the truth is, there is a spa for every budget.

This infographic from Marriott is the best I’ve seen, listing helpful tips and insights into the somewhat intimidating spa experience.  Read this and you will soon shed your spa rookie skin, along with stress-tight muscles, large pores and dry cuticles!

Use These Spa Tips to Prepare for a Relaxing Retreat An infographic by the team at Marriott Spas  No matter where you are headed this holiday season, there’s a Marriott for you.  With over 3,800 properties in over 74 countries and territories around the world, they are surely a leading company in the hospitality industry.

    It’s the day after Christmas and all I’ve been thinking is “I wished I’d made a spa appointment for myself.”
    I need a massage so badly, it hurts (literally).
    Good for you for promising to splurge on yourself. We all need it!

    I had no idea that the Marriott has spa services. We have a Marriott conference center in our town, I wonder if they have a spa. Totally worth checking out.
