frame your fall look {trending eyewear}

We’re talking fall fashion and trendy eyewear in this post sponsored by VSP Direct.

I was in third grade when I first learned I needed glasses… but it took me awhile to actually embrace wearing the glasses.  I’d hide them in my backpack, refusing to wear them and, in turn, suddenly started to do poorly in class because I couldn’t see the blackboard.  These days, I look at glasses in a whole new way.  Glasses are part of my wardrobe, accessories that can fade into my outfit or stand out and offer a real POP.

I knew I needed a couple new frames for fall, two different looks for various occasions and situations.  Luckily, my brother is an optometrist.  I know, you are all so jealous right now!  But while my brother hooks me up with glasses, shades and contacts, he lives on the other side of the country.  I have to go to a local optometrist to update my prescription and have my ocular check-ups, so I use VSP Direct vision insurance.

VSP Direct is the nation’s only not-for-profit vision care company. For the better part of a decade, they have been developing high-quality, affordable individual plans that start at $17 a month.  VSP Direct Coverage includes eye exams (with low co-payment), provides allowance for glasses or contacts, with fully covered lens options.  It is the lowest out-of-pocket cost in vision care and with 30,000 providers in convenient locations, VSP Direct is the largest doctor network in the industry.  They are here to get you those trendy frames for fall!

My brother, the optometrist, told me navy glasses are so in right now.  Behind the basic black and brown, navy is the #1 color he’s selling.  I decided to jump on the bandwagon and couldn’t be happier.  Navy is a unique color in that it is a neutral, but also a color.  It goes with almost everything but still offers a pop of color.  Perfect for fall!

Fall weather is here/coming depending on where you live.  I live in blazing hot Palm Springs, a desert city in Southern California.  Things were cooling off and then this past week a heat wave hit that knocked us on our butts.  You better believe I am so stoked for fall — it’s paradise here during the rest of the year and I especially treasure the autumn season.

In the desert the temperature really fluctuates.  I can wake up and be out of the house at 8 when the morning is cool (like 75) and by midday its 100 and I’m peeling layers off.  Then the sun goes down and I’m freezing.  Layers.  It’s all about layers during this transitional season.  For fall I am loving olive.  It never feels appropriate to wear olive in the summer, so I’m busting it out now in the form of my favorite corduroy leggings from SPANX… did you know SPANX sells leggings and jeans?  Well, they do and they are amazing!

To combat the ever-changing temperature in the desert, I paired my warm corduroy leggings with open shoes and a basic white tank.  For the cooler nights, I grabbed a sleeveless, open, knit sweater and leopard print scarf.  I love to mix textures and prints in the fall!  Of course, accessories make the outfit and this pair of brown/light pink tortoise frames just work perfectly.  It’s tortoise with a bit of girly fun — great twist on a classic frame!

When fall comes around, out come the knits, the jewel tones, the earth tones, the boots and booties… such a fun time for fashion.  I started with the most basic outfit, jeans and a camisole, and layered with a trendy ikat print scarf and an easy on/off wool jacket.  I love the layering of textures and prints, especially in cooler weather.  Accessories really make the outfit, so I added gorgeous lace-up booties, a burgundy patent clutch and a smart pair of bebe glasses (that offer a pop of mint — love mint with burgundy!).

    I love the idea of navy glasses! Not quite as harsh as black, and you could still wear them with brown. I need new glasses, so I think those might be my next pair.

    I have to show some thanks to this writer just for bailing me out of this challenge. As a result of surfing through the the net and meeting notions which were not productive, I believed my life was well over. Living without the approaches to the issues you have resolved all through the short post is a critical case, as well as the kind which may have badly affected my career if I hadn’t noticed your blog. Your actual knowledge and kindness in taking care of the whole thing was helpful. I am not sure what I would have done if I hadn’t encountered such a subject like this. It’s possible to now look forward to my future. Thank you very much for the impressive and effective help. I won’t be reluctant to refer your web page to any person who needs to have guidance on this subject.
