Little Goodall’s charming animal coats are one of my absolute favorite finds for this winter. Molly Goodall is the tremendously talented creator of these children’s coats, and her attention to detail is ah-mazing. From the Sweetheart Owl Coat’s scalloped shoulders to the great big green eyes on the hood, it’s hard to believe that each one of these coats is handcrafted. I honestly can’t stop staring at this coat, it’s just too precious!
The Sweetheart Owl Coat showcases one of the many animals that she has created and Molly’s entire line of animal coats is super adorable. Her designs include animals such as a ferocious lion, a fantastic little fox and a wild grey wolf. You can see her full line of gorgeously handmade coats on her site.
Molly formed Little Goodall, a family owned business based out of Northern Texas, in 2010. Her inspiration for her designs came out of frustration that her son would not wear his hood while it was cold out. Having a degree in fashion design, Molly was able to creatively come up with a solution and designed her own coat, where the hood resembled the head of an animal, all in hopes that her son would be encouraged to wear his hood on those cold winter days. For me this is such an ingenious way to get your child excited about wearing a coat, allowing them to transform themselves into a particular animal and expand their imaginations.
The quality of the coat is superb. The exterior is made of a wool blended felt and is lined with satin polyester. It also has an added interlining providing extra warmth for those nipping cold days. I love seeing my littlest one all snug and warm in her coat. While wearing it, my daughter seems to be quite comfortable; she moves with ease and is not constricted by the coat while playing. Since she is only 13 months and cannot really verbalize her thoughts on the coat, I figure if there’s no crying or tugging and she is happily playing, then she must be comfy. Recently, she started saying,” Hoot Hoot.” I’ll take that to mean that she loves her coat as much as I love seeing her wear it. You can purchase your very own Little Goodall coat here.
