Here in the hotlands, it is actually getting cool. We’ve been having some unbelievable weather. So unbelievable that we haven’t had to put on the AC on in a week! At night the temperature drops into the 50′s and finally I can start to enjoy the blissful fall weather. With cabin, camping and ski trips looming in the near future, I’ve been looking around for supremely cozy pajamas. My daughter is a really hot sleeper, so I also have to factor in materials that will breathe and also help regulate temperature.
Snug Organics, a small family-owned company based in Denver, offers two sets of sleepers: one warm weather and one cold weather. This inventive family is also earth-conscious and wanted to create products from sustainable materials. They used their skill sets, and also their desire to create sleep solutions that are low impact, and locally sourced. This resulted in some really perfect pajamas. I jumped at the chance to review the adorable Snug sleepers (in sizes 3m-5T). They are 100% organic cotton sherpa and oh so completely soft–like impossibly soft. The collars are sherpa-lined, which adds to the coziness by keeping out cold air. Sticking with the mega natural look, Snug Organics Snug sleepers are constructed with certified 100% organic cotton sherpa which is similar to fleece, but is antimicrobial, breathable and sustainable. A big bonus with this material is that babies and toddlers will sleep comfortably through the night maintaining a safe body temperature. For a hot sleeper like my daughter, this sets my mind at ease that she won’t overheat in the night. Super stretch side panels in organic cotton rib knit help with ‘snug-fit’ sizing, really maximizing your child’s time in each size. The wrists and ankles have a nice cinched cuff that isn’t too tight, completing a very sweet fit. My daughter slept in her “Snugs” as she calls them last night. Yesterday (a Sunday) she seriously refused to take them off and I couldn’t blame her! The material is so soft, the fit so snug yet stretchy–they actually make for fun romps around the house.

While the 3m and 6m sleepers are sold with feet (great for those tiny toes) the larger ones are not. I really like this. As your baby grows, their clothes unfortunately do not. Footed pajamas have a definite end point. They also have a downside for middle of the night potty time. I made the mistake of giving my potty trained daughter footed pajamas. In the morning, it was apparent she was not able to fully get off the jams, resulting in a wet mess and embarrassed child. I thought it was a fluke, but no it was not. Those jams went in the garbage. Snug Organics keep the feet free allowing for maximum use and toddler-friendly potty times.
The Snug sleepers are made in the USA and are free of pesticides, synthetics and flame retardant chemicals. A natural vanilla dye-less shell plays well with the bright spring green trim (colored with low impact dyes). This color scheme keeps the organic look but also makes them unisex (yes!). With the top quality of these sleepers, they can definitely be handed down or gifted to other children, no matter the gender. Since these sleepers are polyester-free, they can pill a little in wash. That’s just the price you pay to keep it natural. Snug Organics recommends washing them in cold water on delicate cycle, and then a line dry. Believe me, they are worth the extra step to keep looking and feeling perfect. These are top quality products and should be treated as so! Purchase directly from Snug Organics.
