Rosemary Mango Old Fashioned {cocktail hour}
This Rosemary Mango Old Fashioned recipe is a sponsored post for SocialStars and Sweet’N Low #SweetNLowStars
If you’ve been paying attention to the cocktail scene these last couple of years, you will have noticed the trend of old drinks making a come-back. Thank pop culture influences such as Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire and The Great Gatsby for starting the revolution. Step inside any hip bar and you will see the Old Fashioned, a whiskey cocktail made by muddling sugar with bitters. Typically, you will find citrus and cherry inside but we’re mixing things up while also keeping it skinny!
A pairing I really love is rosemary and mango. I adore herbs in sweet cocktails so naturally this felt like the perfect Old Fashioned flavor spin. The mango keeps the cocktail sweet, tasting so much like summer, and the rosemary balances that sweetness, an almost savory component that makes this one sophisticated beverage.
We’re going to keep it skinny by skipping the traditional sugar cube and using Sweet’N Low. In my last cocktail post featuring Sweet’N Low, I made a simple syrup for my Strawberry Jalapeno Margarita….
This time, we are keeping it superrrrr simple and just using a half packet… skinny and simple cannot be beat!
Rosemary Mango Old Fashioned
Ingredients
1/4 cup fresh mango, cubed
3 maraschino cherries
1/2 packet Sweet’N Low
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
5-7 rosemary leaves + garnish
2 oz whiskey
club soda (optional)
Directions
Muddle mango, cherries and rosemary leaves. Add 2 dashes bitters, ice, Sweet’N Low and bourbon, Shake and serve over ice in a rocks glass, Top with club soda. if desired. Add rosemary sprig for garnish (and added flavor).
This cocktail is perfect for a simple nightcap or entertaining a crowd. Easy to make and easy to customize, you can dial in the flavors to your preference. Don Draper would be proud! Check out Sweet’N Low’s Facebook page for more recipes and ideas!

What amazing pictures! I don’t drink, but I’d go for a virgin version!
I don’t drink alcohol but those recipes even look delicious to me! I love the idea of sweet & spicy together. So unique.
Those look and sound amazing! I love Mango and jalapeno infused drinks!
That sounds fantastic. I have never tried anything like it.
Ahhh, yes. LOVE a good “Old Fashioned” and this is just perfect. We grow the rosemary (and I’m Irish so you can be sure we have the whiskey) and can buy a mango. Cannot wait to try this Sarah. Looks amazing and pinned!
