a day at the fair {Joovy TooFold sneak peek}
My seven year old is at this awesome new time in her life where she is just tall enough to ride more exciting theme park rides. She is on the taller end for her age and is squeaking by on (maybe questionable) FUN rides. This is exciting for me, the ride chaperone. Hey, we all love the teacups at Disneyland, but if my 12 month old can also ride, yeah, it’s not too thrilling.
This week here in the Coachella Valley is the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival — and I HIGHLY recommend checking it out if you are within driving distance. Mmm date shakes! Naturally, we gravitated to some standby favorites first — the swings (Savannah in the yellow seat second down on the right):
The Scrambler… a perfect time to get all squished up with your little lovies thanks to lateral G force (see my little clone down there?):
The Merry-Go-Round, duh:
…and a little petting zoo action. No desert fair would be complete without a few camels. Camel rides and races also are happening… they ride a little bumpier than a horse (I say from experience).
Soon we gave into the devilishly good smelling fair food. How could you not? Though my stomach is feeling a bit queasy the day after, it was worth it. A really wonderful surprise was seeing Pink’s Hot Dogs, which is an iconic Hollywood hot dog stand that I have waited MANY an hour in line to have. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw them in Indio!
Ahh, and there is the gorgeous Joovy TooFold, an all-in-one all-terrain stroller. I mean just LOOK at it. Bad Ace. I have gotten compliments on this stroller in every situation possible. Those in the stroller know are familiar with this Micralite stroller from the UK. In fact, at the fair, a very unassuming man was blown away I had the Micralite here in the US and I felt very COOL.
The Joovy TooFold is a transforming stroller that goes from single to stand-on tandem. I love being able to put the tandem stand away completely, since that is really all I need. Its striking appearance is a crowd-stopper but its performance also shines. The ultra-lightweight aluminum frame, sports high-end 12-inch pneumatic rear wheels, mudguards and a superior suspension system create a BEAST of a stroller that is a joy to push and comfortable to ride in.
The removable and washable padded seat liner provides incredible cushion for baby and when reclined, it is the perfect napping home (if my son would EVER take a stroller nap). This is the stroller we take when we are in for a long day — the zoo, the fair, Disneyland. It gives me peace of mind that Gabriel will be comfortable for the entire day.
And so the sun did set, but we were not done with our day, no way!
We were at the Date Festival for hours, straight into the night, and as long as we kept him in snacks, Gabriel was totally content in the TooFold. Savannah and I cashed in on his contentment, riding all the must-dos like the spinning gravity ride (see above) that Savannah was actually 2″ too short to ride. Oops!
Of course we also rode the ferris wheel — see our Instagram.
Be sure to stay tuned for my full review of the Joovy TooFold and all of its incredible features! There is no stroller like this one, so head over to Joovy and buy your new favorite stroller, retails for $799.

Wow! I love that shade of yellow. Looks like an amazing stroller and I can’t wait to see more. I would be a stroller-aholic if it didn’t cost so much. Lol.
Wow, it looks like you had an AMAZING time! We have an annual fair that they are claiming is closing down. I really hope not because your photos are making me really want to go ASAP!
