Boon is back with some great new products as usual, one being the fantastic Mush. The Mush is a manual baby food processor and I know what you may be thinking: why do I need a separate food processor? Well, I’ll tell you. Sure I have a food processor, an immersion stick blender, and a VitaMix blender; who doesn’t? Those are essential kitchen items that get regular use, but the Mush brings several key elements to make your life easier.
First, the processor is manual. This means it virtually makes no noise at all. If you want to prepare a quick puree for your baby, they can be sleeping right next to you and they will not wake. I know when I kick that blender on high gear my daughter goes bananas and plugs her ears. The manual aspect is super easy and is done with just one hand. Even my 4 year old can operate it. You simply lift the loop and pull horizontally. The blades chop with ease through cooked and certain raw foods easily. I found that steamed fruits and vegetables quickly turned to the mash you need for stage 1. I threw in cubes of raw apple and pear just to see what I could develop. What I got was a finely diced product that would be fantastic for a stage 3 eater. I created 4 different styles of baby foods ranging from stage 1-stage 3. Secretly I’m thinking of using for myself for small batches of pesto or dips. Handy.
What I think is the best element of this product is it’s portability. No electricity is needed so you can literally take it anywhere. Grab the Mush and head out the door. You can whip up a meal for your baby at the park, at a restaurant, at friend’s houses, on vacation…even while camping! How about at the dining table? Say you’ve made dinner for your whole family and your baby needs another serving, or wants to try something from your plate (even cooked meats). You can simply pop it in and whip it up in 30 seconds without even getting up from the table. Priceless.
Another plus is that since you are the power generator, this item is eco-friendly. It’s also a one stop shop for production and storage. Make a big batch or just have leftovers? Snap on the lid that comes with for an airtight seal. Refrigerate for 3 days or freeze for 3 months. Makes about 5-6 servings. Time-saver alert! The bowl and stainless steel blade are dishwasher safe. All parts are BPA free. The dimensions are 5.5″ diameter x 5.25″. Perfect.
