Lunch boxes get beat to hell it seems, or maybe they just aren’t made with the same quality as a backpack.  Whatever the reason may be, I turned to Beatrix New York for a well constructed product to survive an entire year of lunches (and I think even more).

Like the rest of the Beatrix NY collection, the lunch boxes have some top quality stitching and incredibly cute designs.  In a sea of overcomplicated, compartmentalized boxes, this has one large, insulated area.  I easily fit a water bottle, sandwich case and a row of snack holders in the lunch box — more than enough for lunch and snacks for the day.   To avoid confusion and pump up the cuteness, each lunch box has a name tag on the back zippered pocket.  This is a great place for napkins, cash or notes from mom.

The recognizable creatures from the backpacks are also featured here, Dolce & Panna winning their spot in my daughter’s day.  The colors are bright, the stitching is beautiful and the zipper is heavy duty (you know this is key).  All materials are PVC free, lead free, phtalate free and super safe for kids.  Now that I’m thinking about it, perhaps earlier lunch boxes have failed me because of the rigorous washings I put them through.  But really, something that houses so many PB&Js must withstand washings.  The Beatrix NY lunch box can be thrown right into the washing machine — the washing machine!!  I tested this claim out and sure enough, it does.

Every lunch box needs a water bottle so why not keep with Beatrix New York?  These little drink holders fit absolutely perfect inside the lunch box, which I can’t say for others I tried.  100% food-grade stainless steel with a spill-proof cap, the bottles are great for keeping beverages fresh during the school day.  And while I love the two products paired together, the water bottle certainly stands on its own.  Also lead free, BPA free, and pthalate free, they exceed the standards of regulated safety. The 13.5 oz capacity is really ideal for the younger kids targeted.
