Helloooo Valentine’s Day! It’s that time of year where our significant others finally get to execute their elaborate plan of expressing their undying love for us (HA HA HA) or running out last minute for a bouquet of flowers from the gas station (just kidding, that never happens). But if you’re ahead of the game and thinking about the perfect gift to give, or get, I have a suggestion. Perfume is a top seller during this time of year and makes the perfect Valentine’s Day gift. But please don’t go rushing to the nearest department store and buying the first top brand or pretty bottle you see. No, I don’t have beef with any of the department store brands or anything ‘mainstream,’ but it’s Valentine’s Day. Make it special!

I’m usually pretty picky when it comes to fragrances. It either needs to be incredibly light (I have a really sensitive nose) or I have to love it. With Neroli Soliflore, it’s definite love. I can spray on my wrist and my neck without feeling overpowered. Presented in a sleek glass bottle with etched glass, it’s soft, seductive, scented of orange flower blossoms (neroli), with hints of amber and wild oranges. Neroli smells sweet and is one of the most sought after and prized oils. It’s also nontoxic, nonirritant, nonsensitizing, and nonphototoxic. Totally legit for your skin. I’m so in love with this scent that I actually get upset with myself for forgetting to put it on before I leave the house.
Neroli Soliflore does wear off faster than most perfumes but I believe that’s just the nature of natural fragrances. For me this is a good thing since I don’t want to feel like I’ve loaded it on just so I can still smell good at the end of the day. I’d rather reapply mid-day than walk around offending all people I pass. Our bodies also interact better with natural substances, which adds another dimension to the fragrance as it has the ability to be unique to the individual and their pheromones. Apply on pulse points for maximum impact – behind the ears, on the wrists, and behind the knees. Don’t apply to clothes because it the fragrance needs to react with your skin for the truest representation of the notes used in the blend.
