life proof skin for career moms {Vichy Idéalia}

In 8 days, I lived my life to the fullest with Vichy Idéalia as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars #LifeProofSkin

Mom-life is amazing but difficult.  It’s extremely taxing on your body inside and out, mental and emotional… a real drain but so worth it!  All of us have busy schedules, that’s a given, I’m sharing with you today my hectic life — please share yours with me in the comments!! Most importantly, we’re talking mommy me-timeno, not mommy and me time… mommy me-time… with the punctuation on keeping our skin looking fab year round – bright, even, smooth and brilliant! And so I began my 8 day challenge with Vichy Idéalia Life Serum and Ideal Eye

Creating In The Know Mom is merely a fraction of my life, although some days it feels like it takes up 100% of my time and thoughts.  Outside of my blog I have another career with the world’s largest mass media company, NBCUniversal.  For years I have worked for the company in the casting department, researching and auditioning thousands of aspiring or accomplished actors.  I’ve cast everything from low budget TV pilots to big budget commercials to A-list movies.

A couple years ago, I took a break from that job to focus on my high-risk pregnancy, bed-rest nightmare and subsequent newborn.  When he became a toddler, the idea of returning to work started to pop back in my head.  I toyed with the idea for months — could I fit it in my crazy schedule? Going back to casting also meant going back to traveling — a lot.

See, okay, on top of creating In The Know Mom, working part time as an assisting casting director, I also run a photography business with my husband, Husvar Photo.  I’m sure you have noticed the watermark on my ITKM photos.  That’s basically three jobs for me on top of being a wife and mother to two, ages 7 and 19 months.  Factor in my basic needs to hang with friends, adventure outdoors, homeschool and finish writing my book… that’s a jam-packed life.

My day job casting takes me on the road and through the air, traveling all over Southern California, Vegas and now Phoenix, with other locations on the horizon.  Travel can be really tough on your body… all the climate changes, sleep schedule disruptions and generalized anxiety of hurdling through the air at incredible speeds.  In order to look my age for forever, I’m “life-proofing” my skin.  Remember that 8 day Vichy Idéalia challenge?

A constant struggle for me has been getting enough “me-time.”  I’m not talking about living my life before children, filled with weekly spa trips and all day lounging by the pool…

just, like, a shower?  In the morning and not in the late afternoonToo much to ask??  Maybe a potty break without a toddler banging on the door, crashing into my oh-so-very private time of tinkle?!?!  #momproblems

No matter what though, I take care of my skin.  Living in the desert (360 full-sun days a year) I am very aware of the importance. I finally do wear sunscreen, I wash my makeup off before bed, I exfoliate, tone, apply serums, moisturizers and facial masks… and I’m not forgetting the so very important neck and chest area. A quick night and morning routine doesn’t take up much time at all, literally we ALL can make the time.

I’m a serum-lover from way back.  I have tried so many different brands, some with results, a lot with none.  Let me tell you — I’m loving Vichy Idéalia Life Serum.  It is the perfect moisture for my face after cleansing.  This past week and a half I have had super clear, bright skin, despite my crazy schedule.  The texture is perfect, smooth and even — the best base for my daily make-up.  I can always tell after I apply makeup if I have moisturized properly or not — Vichy Idéalia gets the job done!

I’ll admit, I’m also a bit of an eye serum maniac.  With the definite possibility of turning 30 next year (still haven’t decided if I want to or not) I’m taking extra care to aging areas like the eyes.  Vichy Idéalia Eyes has an amazing flexible applicator tip, which I really appreciate as the area around the eyes is extremely delicate.  Just use your ring finger to dab the product in further and smooth. This 2-in-1 anti-aging treatment and illuminator visibly reduces dark circles, smooth fine lines, and illuminates shadows.  I have noticed a DEFINITE new brightness and am looking forward to the coming weeks to see if fine lines are reduced… not that I have too many yet (*wink*).

If you want to give Vichy Idéalia a try, purchase on Vichy website, and this month they’ll be available at Walgreens, CVS, Duane Reade, and Target Stores. You can also find Vichy Idéalia at your local Ulta store.  Keep in the know by liking Vichy on Facebook, following on Twitter and on Instagram!

I’ve been slacking on taking care of my skin like that. I’m 35 so I really shouldn’t thanks for the suggestions as serum, lotion, etc. are all foreign to me and at least I have some products to start trying!

Setting time aside for yourself and buying some things you want and make you feel good about yourself is very important. i enjoyed reading all about it.

I’ve heard a lot of great things about Vichy- it’s great that I can pick it up at Walmart. It can be hard to balance life at any stage, but it’s all well worth it, right?

I don’t think you can find Vichy at Walmart, but just as easy — it’s at my local Walgreens and CVS!

You’re so pretty! I’ve tried several serums before but a lot of them didn’t work on me (or maybe I was just too impatient?). I’ve heard of Vichy before so maybe I’ll give it a try. :)

I get crazy busy as well and often find I sort of like it that way. I don’t take proper care of my skin I’m sure.

Sounds like a great product line. I need to check this out, I really do not use anything on my face other than make up and soap – shame on me!

I love to put a serum on my face but I always forget. I need to get to CVS when it’s in stores and pick up a bottle.
