In The Know Mom is a big fan of KOR, which we discovered for ourselves back in ’09. Then, they only had their flagship water vessel, KOR ONE. Now is another story. New designs and colors have come to KOR but their thirst for giving has remained the same.
People seem to gravitate towards me, friends and strangers alike, asking me for freebie nutrition tips. Every time my first response is, well you need to drink as much water as you can. I could list the benefits of water but it would be a long list (and incomplete). Often these inquiring people respond with rebuttals about the inconvenience of water or the ecological damage plastic bottles pose. Without fail, I point these lost souls to KOR, a company who produces high quality water vessels while giving back to the very liquid they collect: water.
This year, KOR is focusing all its attention on The Nature Conservancy, in specific, the efforts to establish a protected area (South Berry Islands Marine Reserve) in the Bahamas. Learn more and donate at The Bahamas Conservation Work via the NC. By this point I am sure you have heard of 1% for the Planet and the companies that are committed to their efforts. KOR gives their 1% this year to, you guessed it, The Nature Conservancy. I admire the drive of KOR and their never-ending commitment to critical water causes including: ocean protection, global water crisis, watershed protection and container recycling.
Now you know you are giving to a great company so let’s talk design. I mentioned the KOR ONE earlier, and it still remains in top rotation in my house, but what I am really loving is the newer model, KOR Vida. Vida is unlike the rest in the KOR collection as it is steel. The ergonomic design makes this vessel an easy one to carry throughout the day—and isn’t that really the point? If the water bottle is not convenient (i.e. fits cup holders, comfortable to hold) then you will not use it. The Vida is an ideal place to stash fresh water, refilling throughout the day to remain aptly hydrated.
The cap twists off to reveal the Perfect Spout which is threadless and smooth, pleasant to sip from, not to mention wide enough for ice cubes (bonus). The Vida is not insulated but does keep water cool for a long time, perfect for running errands. It comes in three colors – Natural, Arctic White, and Anthracite Black. You also have the option of 500 mL or 750 mL depending on your needs. I went all black and in the larger 750 mL capacity because I am always thirsty. So far, it has been a pleasurable relationship between me and the Vida and also my daughter. My 5 year old loves to steal this one, which just goes to show how easy it really is to use. I like this bottle for my daughter because there is no exposed spout, which makes it more hygienic. Purchase your KOR products straight from the website.
Don’t you think the KOR Vida would make for a nice Father’s Day gift?
