I developed a passion for photography back in high school. It made me feel alive to take photos and I’d spend hours in the dark room. I decided to minor in photography once I got to college. I’ll never forget it, my first college photography class where my teacher gave us the cold hard stats that for every professional photography job posting, 10,000 people apply for them. EEKK! Needless to say, it scared the bajeezees out of me. All of you professional photographers out there, I applaud you. I continued on with my minor, but mentally decided to keep it as a passion/hobby versus career. A few years went by and I never picked up a camera…ever! I modeled for two years in my early 20′s and spent a lot of time with the photographers developing some of the photos in the dark room and I felt that same fire burning inside of me again. The problem with photography is that it’s definitely NOT like riding a bike. Once you stop using it, you have to teach yourself everything all over again. Now, being in a dark room does come back to me like it was yesterday…but that’s slightly outdated now (funny how things change in just a few short years).

Once my daughter was born, I finally saw a good reason to pick up my old skill and document my daughter’s life. Thinking that one day she’ll love all the photos I have of her and so will her children. We’re almost always on the go at our house and although I don’t need a diaper bag anymore, I still do carry around snacks, water and other things for my daughter while we’re out.
