this playard packs a punch {Joovy Room}

Joovy Room review in the know momOut of all the gear I had with my infant daughter, the thing I used the most was a Pack-n-Play.  She resided in there inside the living room, kitchen, my bedroom, even out on the patio for most of the day it seemed.  She napped in there, played with her toys in there, and I could even change her diapers while in there.   While you are busy running around the house, it is a safe place for your baby to be, and travel…  oh my, did that playard see the inside of a hundred hotel rooms!  Well Joovy has kicked it up several notches with their Room Playard.

The Joovy Room Playard is the king of all playards and you will not find anything even close in comparison.  I say this because after inspection, its just the truth.  The first thing I noted about the Room is all of the multi-tasking possibilities.    Not only can it be a bassinet for your baby (up to 15 lbs), it can also be a playard for your toddler.  It has a fully operational and secure changing station, and lots of storage.  The Room is, well, roomy and gives your child a good amount of space to move around in.  Despite this fact, it is easily broken down and fully transportable  (in it’s own carry bag).   Added bonus, the Room comes with a super soft white crib sheet for the bassinet or playard mattress.  Additional sheets are available separately.

So first, let me talk about the exciting Parent Organizer, which is all the storage I was talking about.  It hangs off the side (removable) and holds up to nine lbs of baby products.  There are nine storage compartments for diapers, extra crib sheet or blanket, wipes, lotions/balms, toys, snacks, anything you may need at a moment’s notice.  There is even a hard container for wipes, and two convenient mesh holders for bottles or creams.  This is a huge selling point for me.  With babies, you can never have enough storage, and it can’t all be in one place, or you will be running around the house all day.  There are also additional storage pockets on the other side hanging from the changing station so you can keep powders and wipes accessible.  It’s incredible!  The construction of the changing table is unbelievably sturdy.  Not only is it conveniently wipe-able, but it is also safe with a buckle strap.  There are all kinds of extra security measures, which is a common theme throughout the Room.  While you should never leave babies unattended, you can feel quite safe with them in the Room.

Another amazing feature is built into the Joovy Room, and it is a control panel of sorts.  Here you can plug your MP3 player (iPod) right into the playard, where your baby can listen to any of their favorite tunes through a speaker on the inside.  The Room makes it easy to set the music and move on as it has a sleep mode feature. On the same panel, you can play pre-set lullabies, and even turn on a nightlight.   The nightlight feature really excites me because if I learned one thing with the first one, babies need nightlights.  It is a soft reassuring glow that will not disturb your napping baby.   It is those little add-ons that give this playard the edge on all other products of its type.  Attention to detail, ladies and gentlemen!

Joovy Room review in the know mom

When the Joovy Room first arrived, I was a little intimidated by putting it together.  However, once it was all out on the floor I realized there were no screws or bolts of any type.  I highly recommend reading the easy instructions (actually make this mandatory).  Being my impatient self, I tried to put together the changing station without thoroughly reading the manual.  Do not do this.  It caused me much heartache because there is actually a trick to it.  Now that I have put the Room completely together, broken it down, and put it back up (and broken back down) I say full construction can be obtained in under 10 minutes the first time.  Now I can put it together in around 5 minutes.  As with everything in life, read the instructions first.   Everything except for the changing station fits impressively into the heavy duty carry bag (in matching color).  The entire weight of the playard is 35 lbs- not too bad.   Don’t need the bassinet or changing station? Check out the Room2 or Room 2 Ultralight.  These would be even better for trips to grandma’s house, hotels, and camping.  Don’t get me wrong, I will be traveling with my Room.

The Joovy Room comes in three awesome colors: black, blueberry, and orangie. Retails for about $270.00 — a great price for such a multitasking baby must have.  The sleek modern design will fit in any house, unlike some of the floral patterened eyesores of the past.  Purchase your own Joovy Room and prepare to be amazed.

    Hi there would you mind letting me know which hosting company you’re using? I’ve loaded your blog in 3 completely different web browsers and I must say this blog loads a lot faster then most. Can you suggest a good web hosting provider at a fair price? Thanks a lot, I appreciate it!
