InnoTab 3S with Kid Connect {VTech} + giveaway

The new InnoTab 3S from VTech is here, loaded with apps and Kid Connect, a revolution in the kid tablet world and it has arrived just in time for Christmas — giveaway below!  I was sent one for review, and review we have.

My daughter, 6ish, has been having fun checking out the new VTech InnoTab 3S.  It’s become a fun thing to do in the car and while sitting in waiting rooms, which we’ve been in a lot lately.  So I wanted to get a picture of her playing on it after I downloaded a few new games and ebooks (some surprisingly educational ones I found for the older 6-7 crowd).  At this particular moment she was really engrossed and not “available” for photos… also wearing her Thanksgiving craft from homeschool on her head.  Gotta take what you can get, right?

VTech InnoTab 3s review in_the_know_mom

Let’s get to the review!

Innotab 3s review in_the_know_mom

I gotta say, my favorite update with this InnoTab is the rechargeable batteries that come included.  Something about being a parent means there are never enough batteries around.  The kid commandeers them for her toys and the baby… well what does he sit in/swing upon/ride on that doesn’t require batteries?  We try to be a green family so we use rechargeable batteries as much as possible.  The InnoTab 3s has these very amazing batteries that charge while the device is plugged in.  LOVE!!  Just one less thing I have to worry about.

innotab 3s review in_the_know_mom

Like its predecessor, the InnoTab 3S connects to the Learning Lodge App Store via the computer.  There you can purchase new games and books.  The tablet comes pre-packed with 20 free apps as it is, a great jumping off point.  I really love the H2O Go! app, an educational game that teaches kids the water cycle in a super fun way.

innotab 3s review in_the_know_mom

It also features a kid-safe web browser, allowing the youngins access to the web, but only sites approved by VTech’s educational experts.  Parents can also add additional approved websites, and I love this feature!  My daughter is online all the time and I worry about what she has access to… hello, You Tube, so I feel great about her browsing the web on the InnoTab 3S.  The tablet also comes ready to go with 4 GB of memory, a Wi-Fi connection, 2 megapixel 180 degree rotating camera, a 5 inch color touch screen and the Read, Play & Create cartridge.

I know.  There are options for kids tablets out there, but none other with Premium Kid Connect, and I am so excited to share this feature with you guys!  Your InnoTab 3S comes with a one year subscription of Basic Kid Connect, which allows kids and parents to send text messages and stickers.

YES!  Kid Connect is a tablet to mobile connection so you can stay in touch with your kids anywhere, anytime.  My daughter can now send me voice or text messages (or drawings) from home when I am out.  It is such a fantastic feature! I find myself constantly wishing I could just text my daughter (she’s approaching 7) but it is too early for her to have a phone.  The InnoTab 3S has just opened doors I never knew existed.

This is great for parents and kids, but my daughter is already thinking about other possibilities.  It is perfect for kids to keep in touch with their friends and other family members.  So with the included year of Basic Kid Connect, you get kid to parent texting and stickering.  Upgrade to Premium Kid Connect and you can enjoy the voice messages, drawings and photos — for $14.99.

She’s still not cooperating…

innotab 3s mom review in_the_know_mom

Purchase your VTech InnoTab 3S for just $79.99 (a holiday sale down from $99.99) and gift it to your little ones or little ones you know this holiday season… a perfect learning tablet for kids 3-9.  I especially recommend this tablet for preschool – 1st grade kids.  Keep in the know by liking VTech on Facebook and following on Twitter.
