in my pool bag {summer neon necessities}

This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Brita, but all my opinions are my own. #pmedia #BritaOnTheGo http://my-disclosur.es/OBsstV

Gearing up for summer is a big deal here in Palm Springs.  Summer is considered off-season for us as it will inevitably reach unbearable temperatures, but I fell in love with Palm Springs years ago right in the heat of July.  Pool season is upon us and I have been shopping to prepare.  OH, have I been shopping, and I’m sharing my top finds with you guys today, but first, we talk hydration and washi tape.

Washi tape obsession sneaks up on you.  One day, you buy a few rolls and before you know it, you are wrapping washi tape around everything.  As soon as thoughts of summer crept in this year, neon was all I could think about, which will be very apparent in this style post, and I snatched up all of the neon washi tape I could find.  I also love gold for summer so, yeah get in my basket too, Gold Washi… and while I am at it, give me all of the studs.

No pool bag is complete without a proper water bottle – dehydration is r.e.a.l. in the summer. Brita makes water bottles now – filter included, so they are perfect for on-the-go situations.  I used mine first a week ago at the zoo filling up from the water fountain – because we all know that isn’t filtered water coming out of there.  The following weekend, we decided to have a spontaneous family vacay to Vegas for Memorial Day Weekend and I knew I wanted to jazz up my Brita Hard Sided Filter Water Bottle. At very least, it gave me something to do on my 4 hour passenger ride to Vegas!

I utilized my love of washi tape and simple crafts by just wrapping the tape around in a pattern that pleased me.  The awesome thing about washi is that it isn’t permanent.  Once summer ends, I could completely reinvent my Brita bottle with colors of fall.

The pool bag – and this is one not considering the littles – isn’t too complicated.  The pool calls for simple makeup and simple clothes, which is the mood here in Palm Springs that really drew me in: laid back.  All you really need is one great suit, one great cover-up, one great pair of sunglasses and accessories… but don’t forget sunscreen for your face because you only get the one!

When you are in the pool situation where heavy makeup is an ew, you can rely upon accessories.  This summer I am all about Quay sunnies, which at $45-50 a pop, you cannot miss.  To feed my neon accessory addiction, I’ve turned to Baublebar. Their what’s new section always has the cutest on-trend pieces, currently including lots of neon and fluorescents.

Keep yourself hydrated this summer with the awesome collection of hard and soft Brita filtered water bottles.  Find this Brita bottle and others in the hardware department of Walmart  –  you can also find washi tape and adhesive-studs in Walmart as well!
