back to school with H2O {Nestlé® Hydration Movement}

This post is sponsored by Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water; but all opinions are 100% my own.

Now that school is back in session for many of us, we are all thinking about healthy snacks to send with our kiddos.  A healthy diet is only partly achieved with food, though.  What beverages are you sending with your kid to school?  I hope no soda or excessively sugary drinks!  Water is and has always been the best option, pure hydration like none other.

The other day I posted a photo on Instagram of my daughter being “adventurous” and trying figs for the first time.  I am always proud of her willingness to try new things.  A very close friend of mine made a comment to the effect of “you know it is a crazy world when figs are considered adventurous and <insert junk food company> is not?”  She made a good point.  Processed foods full of artificial this and imitation that should terrify us and our children!  It is the same with beverages.  Lose the junk and go back to what is natural, and what could be more natural than water?

I shared some of my mom’s wisdom in a previous post for Nestlé® Pure Life® Purified Water, mostly to the effect of how her job as a Radiation Oncology Therapist taught us all to live a cleaner life.  I shared with you her water habits and how she drinks at least 3 quarts of water a day.  This discipline improves her life by making her feel better.  I’m just surprised she hasn’t floated away yet!  I have not been able to live up to her example yet, but am trying.  I infuse my water with fresh citrus and herbs to keep me drinking as much as I can.

Living in a hot, desert climate, it is not difficult to instill the importance of hydration in my daughter.  She happens to be thirsty all the time, but I am also battling with her friends and their parent’s choices.  It is never easy when things that friends have are off limits to you, so I try to understand but never give up the good fight!  While she is in my grasp I pump her full of H2O fuel, and hopefully that will counterbalance any peer-related missteps she may make.

    We always make a point of drinking water. That’s what we send for our kids for school, too!

    I need to drink more water myself, I just get so bored of it. Thank you for the reminder of the importance!

    We stocked up on water right before school started. It is mandatory to take with you to school at my house. Nestle is the only water my oldest will drink.

    Infused water with fruit makes it much easier and appealing for me to drink more water! Love the photo, so adorable!
