hydration in the desert {Capri Sun}

This week our family hiked the Palm Springs desert and stayed hydrated with Capri Sun as part of a sponsored post for Socialstars. #CapriSunMomFactor

We do a lot of hiking around the Coachella Valley in which we live, even during the summer.  We beat the heat with sunblock, breathable clothing and lots of beverages to fuel our treks.  For my 7 year old, I like to bring convenient, flavored beverages as incentives to push herself and hike further.  Capri Sun is an easy choice as it tastes great, comes in a portable pouch and contains no artificial flavors, colors/dyes, or preservatives.

Those of you familiar with the Coachella Valley (SoCal) know that temperatures can get scary high here in the summer.  It’s fairly certain the temperature will stay in the 105-120 range all summer, and you will definitely encounter a few 120+ days… those days, we don’t hike (or go outside at all).  It is true once you live here for awhile, you acclimate quite a bit and, yes, the heat is dry… better than the humidity I had as a child on the East Coast…but it’s still mega hot nonetheless.  With all that being said, you better bring drink options wherever you go, especially when you are exerting a lot of energy.

My daughter is incredibly active and will take on anything we throw at her — just like her mom!  She loves to be outside, again just like her mom, and we just have the most fun with her.  Our local camping days are coming to an end as the heat approaches, so we have one last trip to Joshua Tree coming up next week… after that, we say see you in September!

Capri Sun pouches are perfect for all of us families on the go, especially those who love the outdoors.  Keeping hydrated is essential for (well, everything) stamina during all of your adventures this summer.  Capri Sun was something I drank as a child and I’m happy to pass that on to my daughter.  Capri Sun Roaring Waters Flavored Water Beverages are my favorite variety as they are a light fruit flavored beverage with low calorie content.  No artificial colors or flavors here and, as with all Capri Sun products, they are a fun way to hydrate!*

Life doesn’t stop in the desert summer heat, we just have to be a bit smarter.  I’ve stocked up on Capri Sun Roaring Waters Flavored Water Beverages for everything from long hikes to short trips the grocery store.  The taste is awesome and my kid just loves them.  Easy sell.

    It has been extremely HOT here the past few days too. I took the kids out to a theme park and I think we all got a little dehydrated. So important to keep those fluids up in the hot summer sun!
