herb-infused vodka {summer cocktails}

I’m already infusing all of my water with herbs and fruits, which led me think, why not vodka as well?  Vodka is a great vessel for flavors, and you don’t have to resort to the syrupy manufactured kind.  I searched around and found a great resource.

Simply take a great, clean tasting vodka (don’t cheap out on me here) and pick the fresh herbs you have growing now.  While you can make a great infused vodka with just one herb, you may find that combining other ingredients will taste even better.  Think about what you are going to do with the vodka.  Are you going to be making fruity or more savory drinks?  I think herb-infused vodkas taste great just poured over ice  with maybe a twist.  What a great, simple drink for these hot spring/summer days!

While all the rage right now is bacon-flavored vodka (possible Father’s Day gift?) I prefer the light crispness of fresh herbs.  Now that I think of it, forget Father’s Day!  These herb-infused vodkas will make for great gifts for any vodka lover.  They will also come in handy while entertaining and certainly impress your guests!  To create your own concoctions, head over to Design Sponge for the full details.
