No matter how old my daughter gets, how much money I invest in her car seat, her sleeping head will roll. We’ve been traveling in the car a lot lately, so it had become unavoidably aware to me how much she needed a neck pillow. I see her tiny head clamped forward, just a mess of curls, and I’m reaching back while driving (not recommended) trying to push back her noggin. It seems very painful to me, although my daughter doesn’t complain. We have tried a few different neck pillows, some making for a more comfortable ride, but none fully fixing the problem. When my daughter has had a long day at the beach, or a long weekend trip, the car is her ideal place to completely pass out. She can not be woken up at this point, and that head eventually flops forward.
Finally, we have found the greatest neck pillow, ideal for traveling comfortably. I imagine this will come in handy not only in the car, but also on other modes of transportation, i.e. the airplane. This week my daughter and I were zooming around Los Angeles working and playing. About the same time each early evening, I saw that glazed over eye look. We’d hop in the car and this time, the songs didn’t come, and neither did all the questions, or commands on where to navigate (she’s a backseat driver). No, this time of day I knew those big eyes would soon be closed. I’d look back and she would already have her Aurora giraffe neck rest wrapped around her neck. When I say wrapped, I mean wrapped. This is what makes this a superior neck pillow. It wraps all the way around and the tail even hooks around the foot, although not necessary. Even in stop and go traffic on the PCH or the 405, her head stayed back, or at least to the side. Despite my personal hell deep inside LA traffic, my daughter was always sleeping soundly and comfortably. When we got back to our hotel, she would grab the giraffe and bring it inside with her, insisting that she sleep with it in bed.
Purchase your own Aurora neck pillow from their new line Are We There Yet?! (oh how I hate that my daughter already uses this question!) straight from their website. They currently have a giraffe and also a monkey for sale.
Aurora is a trusted brand that is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary. I’m sure many of you have heard of some of their other popular products like Dreamy Eyes, Yoo-Hoo & Friends, and Cheeky Charlie (which this line is based on). I first came across their high quality plushes while in a zoo gift shop. You can find their products in not only zoos, but also major department stores, high-end toy stores, and even hospital gift shops.
