My poor 3 month old has those uncontrollably spastic arms that flail all day.  He bonks himself in the head constantly and always wakes himself up.  The swaddle calms his jerky arms and I can tell he feels at peace with them tightly wrapped.  But since we use the swaddle as a signal for nap/bedtime, we do not use them during the rest of the day.  Instead, if we are at home, he is hanging in a wearable blanket, because his legs are just as jerky as his arms.
