With a fresh school season beginning soon, my house is gearing up for new guests. My 5 year old is the most outgoing child on Earth so this season of new school, new teams and new organizations means lots of new friends. I love this characteristic and am blown away daily by her raw courage to walk right up to any kid and engage them. I certainly was not that way when I was little; she must get this from her dad.
When thinking about the areas of the house that will need the most attention, bathrooms became an obvious hot spot. After all, every house guest will most likely use your facilities, especially the overnight ones. We recently moved and I’ve noticed the bathrooms have been the last to receive attention. They are overlooked easily as they are places usually to get in and get out — especially kids bathrooms.
Updating and upgrading your bathroom to be guest-ready isn’t as much work as it sounds. Simply remember to pay attention to the key areas (i.e. areas of use) like toilet, sink and mirror (this includes flattering lighting). Make these areas clean, pleasant and easily used and you are golden. I have found a simple way to keep your bathroom guest-friendly is to stock up on supplies. Display fresh, crisp rolls of toilet paper in a cute, overflowing basket. Fill soap dispensers with quality product and keep piles of hand towels in reach — better yet keep a full stock of Kleenex Hand Towels handy. Use your supplies as decoration — I promise this comes across very inviting.
When we’re thinking kids, we’re thinking messy. When kids come over for playdates and sleepovers, they get into everything. As you usher them to the bathrooms, have no worries of ruining your “good towels” as Kleenex has produced Hand Towels for your bathroom. You get a clean, fresh towel every time. We parents need all the help we can get when it comes to preventing germ spread in our homes, especially when lots of kids are involved.
With kids in mind, I thought I would make my DIY for Kleenex Hand Towels a fun one. Grab the kids and some craft supplies. The Kleenex Hand Towel box is conveniently shaped to fit onto your existing hand towel holder. To make it fit your kids bathroom, use felt in colors that match the decor and create a fun monster face. I attached our finished monster to an elastic headband in order to reuse when the towels run out. Materials needed: Kleenex Hand Towels box, hand towel rod, assorted felt and accessory add-ons, tacky glue, scissors and elastic headband.
