It is rare to find a diaper bag that has it all. When I cannot find exactly what I am looking for here in the states, I tend to travel to Australia, typically finding something amazing. This is the case with Gr8x, a line of bags coming soon to the US, already beloved down under, that truly meets all expectations (says this expectant veteran mom).
The standout of the collection for me is the Alice Shoulder Bag, a stunning, classic diaper bag that effortlessly transitions from fall to winter to spring and so on. It pairs well with any stroller style and color, meaning it really can be that one bag you use every day. Coming in two color combos: grey and taupe or black and cream, the Alice Shoulder Bag is quite beautiful and timeless.
The neutral exterior is offset with the bright lemon yellow interior, a happy find when looking for diapers. Inside, prepare to be dazzled and amazed at the multitude of pockets, hideaways and time-saving organization. The bag is broken up into three major sections, a giant zippered one in the middle for big items or as a catch all, and one on either side with a magnetic snap (containing zipped and elasticized pockets). The backside of the bag is where you will fill your wipes compartment (I’ll get to that) but there is also ample room for more necessities. The front features two large covered pockets as well with the contrasting color detail. These are great for your personal items (wallet, keys, phone) that you need fast access to.
The matching accessories include a very nice padded changing mat (much nicer than the average) an insulated bottle bag and heavy duty stroller clips. I love that Gr8x does not just throw in the “mandatory” accessories. Every piece is high quality and for once I won’t be adding in my own plush changing mat.
So this blew me away. Know how you can never get to the wipes quick enough? This bag features an external wipes access area. You can slip a pile of wipes into this pocket and access it from the outside of the bag. Has your jaw dropped? I squealed when I first saw this feature! How brilliant. See below.
Easy to clean, the Alice Shoulder Bag has wipeable microfiber fabric with PU leather details. Speaking of details, there is an absolutely adorable change purse that hangs from the front strap. It features a leather rosette and even though I rarely have coins, I could not imagine the bag without it. The shoulder straps are soft and flexible leather which create a very comfortable carry. I have mine fully loaded and it is very easy to carry, very easy on the shoulders.
The Alice Shoulder Bag can be found online via the Gr8x website for $170 AUD (approx $180) a reasonable price indeed for this level of quality.
