Glowing Green Smoothie {Kimberly Snyder}

green smoothiethe beauty detox solutionOkay, so I am in love with Kimberly Snyder’s Glowing Green Smoothie and want to share it with you. You will drink this in the morning only when you feel hungry. Kimberly recommends this as late as possible in the morning since your body is still detoxing and digesting from the day and night before. I am not a big fruit eater, but love green vegetables so I thought this was a great way to get both. If you do not particularly like the veggie taste just add some more pear or apple.

Kimberly Snyder is a highly sought after nutritionist for many of the entertainment industry’s top celebrities and author of the best-selling book, The Beauty Detox Solution. I learned so many new things from her book The Beauty Detox Solution, but one that is pressed into my memory is to only eat fruit on an empty stomach. fruit as a healthy dessert option won’t be on my menu anymore. It is so interesting how the order we eat certain foods makes such a impact on digestion and overall health.

Please check out her book and web-site. She has helped so many people feel their best. Enjoy!

  • green smoothie1 1/2 cups water
  • 1 head organic romaine lettuce, chopped
  • 1/2 of large bunch of organic spinach (or 3/4 of small bunch)
  • 3-4 stalks organic celery
  • 1 oraganic apple, cored and chopped
  • 1 organic pear, cored and chopped
  • 1 organic banana
  • Juice of 1/2 organic lemon
  • Optional: 1/3 bunch organic cilantro (stems okay), 1/3 bunch organic parsley (stems okay)

  1. Add the water and chopped head of romaine and spinach to the blender.
  2. Starting the blender on a low speed, mix until smooth.
  3. Gradually moving to higher speeds, add the celery, apple, and pear.
  4. Add the cilantro and parsley if you choose. Fresh herbs, like cilantro and parsley, have cleansing properties that help extract heavy metals and other toxins from the body.
  5. Add the banana and lemon juice last.
  6. This recipe produces about 60 ounces. Kimberly recommends that a woman drink about 16-25 ounces every morning. You can store the rest of the liquid for a day or portion it out and freeze.
