I wanted to try the baby line, specifically to see the consistency and formula success.  I already knew that the products were 100% natural, plant-based, enriched with multivitamins and omegas—not to mention free of parabens, sulphates, artificial colors and fragrances.  So what really needed to be tested was the effectiveness and sensory experience.

My daughter is 5 but still has the perfectly sensitive skin of a newborn, so I always test on her.  Next shower, she was massaging mahu Baby Bath, Body Wash & Shampoo into her scalp and all over her skin.  I immediately heard mmm sounds so I came over to give her head a sniff.  The product smelled so fresh and green… and the lather was rich and satisfying.   Since my daughter is of the curly-haired breed, she has to be really careful about hair products.  Anything that strips moisture ruins her thirsty locks, leaving them tangly and dull.  I knew mahu was plant-based so I felt safe letting her use this.  It does not contain sulfates, which are a shockingly common ingredient in other shampoos.  Not only does sodium laureth sulphate strip moisture (hello, it is a detergent) but it is also corrosive, so you do not want that in your eyes!  The two active ingredients are lavender (heals, balances, calms and has antiseptic properties) and chamomile (soothes, reduces anxiety and sleep issues).  I don’t really even need to mention how fragrant these two are and how well they go together.

Post-shower came the mahu Baby Moisturizer, which my daughter slathered on.  It too had a lovely natural smell.  The consistency was perfect, loose enough to immediately absorb yet substantial enough to keep skin moisturized.  It left my daughter’s sensitive skin silky and glowing, no hint of irritation.  I found her getting another couple squirts throughout the day and rubbing them on her hands and feet (like she sees mom doing all day).  Mahu Baby Moisturizer is perfect for babes with sensitive skin, even the brandy-new kind— and even on the Über-sensitive facial skin.   The active ingredients in this one are Aloe Vera (moisturizing, heals and strengthens tissue, increases oxygen availability to skin) and Vitamin E (powerful antioxidant, maintains skin’s oil balance, reduces water loss, forms protective barrier).
