high-end kids clothing subscription {FabKids}

Spring is here, feeling a bit like summer already in Palm Springs, but nonetheless it is time for warm weather clothing.  I have a seven year old daughter and a one year old boy to clothe this season, both very different in styles yet I found great new outfits for them both from FabKids, sent for review.

When the first monthly subscription services came out for kids clothing, I was so excited.  What a fabulous, time-saving idea, I thought. Once I had the service for awhile, though, I began to realize the quality of the clothing wasn’t great.  At one point it was a box of garbage being delivered and there ended my subscription.  So when I heard from FabKids, a subscription service offering high-quality, unique and stylized outfits, I was both hesitant and excited.

Founded by actress Christina Applegate and ShopStyle founder Andy Moss, FabKids has completely blown away my expectations.  When the outfits arrived, I was impressed with the quality, both in fabric and craftsmanship.  I already knew the designs were super fun, but wow, the whole package.

Let’s start with Savannah, my 7 year old.  She chose the Palm Trees and Stripes outfit, which consists of a poplin dress and stretchy leggings.  The Palm Tree Woven Dress is a black and white palm print dress with purple criss-cross back straps and an elastic cinched waist. Quite possibly my daughter’s favorite feature of any dress is pockets, and this one has them!

Paired with the Fab Soft Striped Leggings, it is a perfect ensemble for a day out.  The leggings are stretchy (no one likes a saggy legging) super soft and a great essential to have in the wardrobe.  Bottom line when it comes to my daughter’s clothing is, does she feel pretty in it and can she play in it? winner, winner.

My baby is no longer a baby, and now that he is walking all the time, I care a lot more about his outfits.  He is in this interesting (i.e. frustrating) place size-wise so it is really hard to find clothing for him.  He has this barrel chest that demands 2T paired with a tiny waist, that needs 18 mos.  Yet the 18 mos bottoms aren’t long enough and the 2T are too long… do kids ever actually wear clothes that truly fit them?

I couldn’t resist the So Fly Graphic Tee, especially paired with the Railroad Denim.  The tee is soft, true to size and super fun.  The stripes are navy and a brownish – burnt orange and I love that combination.

These Railroad Denim Jeans are high-quality, durable and strong yet soft.  The roll-up detail is awesome — that faded stripe railroad print.  With Gabriel being between sizes, I have to roll up most of his jeans anyway, so these are just perfect.  They are a loose fit and I usually go more towards the skinny style, but will be a great fit for those truly in 2T size pants.  I can see these being a favorite pair of denim for my son for a long time to come.

I’ve already seen the lookbook for April and there are so many expertly styled outfits for kids sizes 2-12.  From prim and proper to a little bit funky, there are styles for all your kiddos. Keep your eyes peeled because I have plans to review more outfits for you guys in the near future.

Let’s get down to pricing for the VIP Membership.  Each month, a personalized FabShop will be made for your kid(s).  Each outfit (top, bottom) is just $29.95.  For your first month, you get your outfit for only $15… incredible value.  The FabShop is opened at the 1st of the month.  If you check in by the 10th of the month and you don’t see an outfit you need, simply opt out and you will not be charged.  Don’t opt out and on the 11th you will be charged the $29.95 BUT you can use that as a credit for an outfit later on.  Speaking of credits, you also earn points towards free outfits with every purchase.

The verdict: sign me up!  Head over to FabKids and check out the gorgeous designs now available.  A quick signup of your kid’s age, size and style and you are free to browse (without comitting to the membership).  You will be hooked.  Keep in the know by liking FabKids on Facebook

    First of all I want to say excellent blog! I had a quick question which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your thoughts before writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or tips? Thanks!
