chocolaty energy on-the-go {Energems}

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Energems.

When I wake up in the morning, one of my first thoughts is caffeine.  I have to be careful with it though, as too much and I get super jittery.  I leave the espresso to my husband and usually opt for tea, my favorite option being Half & Half (you know, half tea half lemonade).  Whenever I leave the house I have tall cans of tea on me, cumbersome and heavy.  I’m already toting a diaper bag that looks like it may burst at any moment, so sometimes this is a problem.  Energems gives me another option, a natural, chocolaty and compact option.

Like I said, I have a bit of an abusive relationship with caffeine in that it abuses me if I’m not careful.  I came into this Energems review with great caution.  I read that three chocolate gems are the equivalent in caffeine to one cup of coffee or one energy drink.  This made me feel pretty comfortable, knowing I could start with just one and go from there.  This is the beginning of a very beautiful relationship.

Energems are not just caffeine, they also pack an energy punch by way of B Vitamins and a proprietary energy mix.  Fully support that and no jitters there!  I feel more focused and alert when I eat the Energems but never shaky.  They are awesome for that late afternoon slump that happens to us all.  I also found I could eat one or two later at night and it wouldn’t keep me up all night like a coffee would, but it gave me a boost to motor through my work or chores.

These real milk chocolate energy bites are low calorie – only 15 each, which is a big plus.  The flavors are yummy: Chocolate Charge, Mint Fusion and Peanut Butter Blast.  The hard-coating gives them the same consistency as your favorite other (non-caffeinated) chocolate candies.  The flavors are good though there is a bit of… something… an aftertaste that I think is the vitamins, but it fades quickly.

From a financial aspect, they are awesome.  Energy drinks and shots are pretty notorious for their high price points.  One box of Energems is the equivalent to 3 energy drinks at just $2.99. The compact box is about the size of those raisin boxes for kids… fits easily in your purse or diaper bag.

    I seriously could have used some extra energy this weekend. Sounds like the perfect choice.

    They look really yummy – unfortunately I’m allergic to chocolate so I won’t be able to try them… but I might grab some as a pick-him-up for hubby!

    Chocolate and energy? Yes please! These look delicious. And, dare I say it, a better option than coffee!?

    You had me at “chocolaty.” But really – I’d die without my morning caffeine and don’t always have time for my coffee with two little kids (one to get off to school). And my husband drinks energy drinks far too often and I hate that… I tried one once and my heart was racing and I couldn’t stop shaking, YIKES! I just signed up for the sample, thank you!
