encouraging public transportation {Metrolink}

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Metrolink for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.

I grew up in beautiful 4-season Richmond, VA but during my college years I moved out to Los Angeles with my then bf (now husband). I stayed in the heart of LA for years and learned it is a love/hate type of city. The pros of living in such a booming city are many, especially as an early 20-something. I only had a couple complaints about living in the city but one was a biggie: the traffic. Oh, the traffic. Every time I left the house, I had to tack on an extra 20-30 minutes in case there was traffic — no wait, there was ALWAYS traffic. Often times, even with a 30 minute buffer, I was late. To everything. So I moved to my favorite city to vacation — Palm Springs.

Yes, I moved 120 miles away to live in a city without traffic. It’s true. I still had to (and still do) work in Los Angeles, so I commuted to work a couple times a week. I prefer ed the 2 hour commute a couple days a week to the everyday traffic — so now you KNOW it is that bad. Just the other week I drove into LA for work and it just so happened an important Dodger game was going on… silly me drives right into downtown and I went about 2 miles in 45 minutes. Every time that happens it reignites the fire deep in my soul which represents my hatred for wasting time in traffic.

But you know what? I love LA and no matter what, I’m going to be spending a lot of time in the city for many years to come. Better public transportation options is for sure the answer to LA’s traffic problems. Right now (and for the next FIVE YEARS) there is some extensive roadwork happening on I-5. The improvements will enhance safety, improve traffic flow, reduce congestion, encourage ride sharing, decrease surface street traffic and help improve air quality. But for now, there is another option — the Metrolink, a commuter rail system. I’m urging you guys in the LA area who take the I-5 for work or play — try Metrolink. It is clean, fast and affordable. We need to support the existing local transportation if we hope to create more!

Chill out. Take the train. Plan A Trip via Metrolink Today.

    Hi there! I know this is kinda off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site? I’m getting tired of WordPress because I’ve had problems with hackers and I’m looking at alternatives for another platform. I would be great if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

    Fantastic blog! Do you have any tips and hints for aspiring writers? I’m planning to start my own blog soon but I’m a little lost on everything. Would you suggest starting with a free platform like WordPress or go for a paid option? There are so many options out there that I’m totally overwhelmed .. Any ideas? Many thanks!
