just dance disneyI am admitting this is the first Just Dance (or any dance video game) that I have tried.  But seeing as how my family is completely addicted to both the Xbox 360 Kinect and Disneyland, this seemed like the right time to jump aboard.  Living 30 minutes from Disneyland definitely has its upsides.  The magic of Disney is very real around here since all of my daughter’s beloved characters are “our neighbors” as she says.  Like any other 6 year old, my daughter is in love with everything Disney, and like any other little girl, she is obsessed with singing and dancing.  Combining her loves is Just Dance Disney Party, a video game that will have the whole family up on their feet.

Disney characters transcend generations, even the new characters you did not grow up with.  You cannot help but become enthralled with the magical stories that come from Disney.  This fact is the main reason why this edition of Just Dance is so addictive and fun.  I was clearly most excited to see my daughter’s reaction but found myself enjoying the game just as much.  It is for sure an instant smile-maker game.

The songs featured come from Disney classic movies and also Disney Channel original series (like Hannah Montana, High School Musical and Shake It Up). A good majority of my daughter’s favorite songs are on this game from classics like Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Mary Poppins and The Jungle Book to new titles like Tangled, Tinker Bell and Bolt.  She sure was happy to go all out while singing and dancing, and, I have to admit, I am always looking for a reason to belt out Under The Sea and Be Our Guest.

Just Dance Disney Party is available for Wii and Xbox 360 (requires Kinect).  We made the switch from Wii to Kinect when the Kinect first came out and I think that was one of the better decisions we’ve made.  It is so fun to dance around and play competitive games without a controller in your hand.  The Just Dance collection is a perfect mate for the Kinect platform.  I am happy to report we haven’t found any kinks yet with this game.

I guess we are a competitive family because we always opt to play competitively when we can, but this game is super fun to play cooperative.  Another upside to the Kinect version is the exclusive Create mode that allows players to create and star in their own music videos.  I have to admit, we haven’t tried this yet but plan to very soon!  I’m looking forward to seeing the choreography my daughter comes up with. =)

Purchase Just Dance: Disney Party from Amazon — a perfect gift for the whole family this holiday season!
