I thought it was an adorable little show that had some really great messages behind them. NO offense to the Thomas the Train lovers out there, but the episodes look like they’re a throwback and I seriously fall asleep watching them. So to see a new, modern, train show was pretty exciting to me. If you have a son, then I’m sure you know a lot about trains. Granted, I have two girls, but my nephew has gone through his fair share of train obsession days. He’s five and it all started when he was about two. If your kids are train fans, then you need to check out the Chuggington Wooden Railway Train Sets. We were able to try out Koko’s Safari set made by Tomy.

Koko’s Safari Set features the beloved Koko who has a very important job to do. His mission is to help deliver food to all the animals. On this set, you’ll be able to drive through the gates, ride the maze of rails and even venture through an elevated tree tunnel. The set was surprisingly easy to put together. There were only two cable ties holding down the train cars, the rest of the items were safely packed in the box. Easy enough for a child to open without needing your help with a pair of scissors every two seconds. Included it also has pictures and a map that help you make your set look exactly like the one on the box. I attempted to do it on my own at first and quickly realized that I wasn’t very good at winging it with a train set. It went much smoother with the directions!

My daughter had so much fun with Koko driving him around helping out the animals. She carried the animal feed, animals and even some of her tiny princesses on the train. The track and pieces are extremely made. The pieces aren’t flimsy wood. My daughter especially had fun with the tunnels, gate and hills. She really got some speed with the hills and probably enjoyed those the most. This set has a total of 38 pieces with sounds and is made for ages 3 and up.
