The 2-in-1 diapering system {Charlie Banana} + giveaway

Charlie BananaEverywhere I seem to turn cloth diapers seem to be there. When my daughter was born there weren’t many options for cloth diapers and I have to admit, I was so overwhelmed with my first child, I couldn’t even think about trying to use cloth diapers. Now that I’ve learned to revolve my world around my child and I’m used to sleeping less and being ordered around the house, I’m ready to take on the cloth challenge with my next child. If you’re like me, then you must be overwhelmed looking at all of the options that there are out there. This is why at ITKM we’re trying to tell you about all of the different options you have. One of my top favorite’s is Charlie Banana®, who offers a 2-in-1 diapering system. What’s that mean? Well it means that you can use the diapers with a reusable insert or you can use it with a disposable insert. The fact that you can use it with a disposable insert makes it more of a hybrid diapering system, which is fabulous for those newly converted people like myself. Or even if you’ve converted, but your daycare or babysitter isn’t accustomed to cloth, then the disposable inserts are perfect for these moments.

Charlie Banana® diapers are unbelievably soft. You’ll find yourself just wanting to touch it, so if you feel this way, then you know your child will love wearing this same material. the interior of the diapers are lined with soft fleece, which is great on sensitive skin. In my opinion, Charlie Banana® is the best fitting and most absorbent of the classic pocket diapers. Plus, I’m a huge fan of their color options and they’ve recently expanded their print options, which you have to check out. You may be worried about the high costs, but honestly, if you do the math you end up saving thousands of dollars with cloth diapers especially with adjustable snaps on the one size diapers that grow with your child. What’s the difference between One Size and Sized diapers? Well some parents prefer the Sized simply because they can put them on without any adjustments and they always fit perfectly. Their no-brainers. Plus newborns tend to be much smaller, so they may fit better in some of the Sized diapers just because the One Size may not fit as snugly. The One Size diapers also have an adjustable elastic inside each leg casing so you can adjust them from XS to L in a matter of seconds. I tend to find the snaps easy to use on these and in my opinion they’re cost-effective.

How the Charlie Banana® diapering system works is that the diaper has an interior pocket, similar to a pillowcase, for stuffing the absorbent reusable inserts into. It also has an interior flap that folds over to keep the insert securely in place as the baby moves but still leaves the insert accessible from the front in case it needs adjusting. Each one size diaper comes with a large and a small insert for use as the diaper grows with your baby. Some parents actually use two inserts at a time for heavy wetters to avoid any leaks. This is a smart idea for overnight use as well.

Head over to Charlie Banana® and check out more about their diapers, the different sizes, options and colors. Going cloth is great on your pocketbook and on our earth. You can’t go wrong with these especially since you can even use disposable inserts if you have a weak stomach in your house like I have in mine.

I am going to be a brand new mom shortly and have been researching cloth diapers extensively. I’ve come to the conclusion that Charlie Banana all in one’s are everything I want in a cloth diapering system based on reviews, design, and appearance. I love the name and the logo and they seem to consistently have the best reviews across the board online. I love how clean the designs are (they don’t look bulky on), how vivid and varied the color and print choices are, and how super soft their products are. I can’t wait to try them out on our new baby girl, Rosemarie, in December. =) Though I love all the colors and prints available, my very fav style is the white diaper with the aqua Charlie Banana logo and name embroidered on front of the diaper.
