I was quite fond of the Boba 2G, an ideal baby carrier for errands to hiking, so when the Boba 3G hit the market I couldn’t wait to see how they could improve upon the old model.
While the design appears relatively the same, there are a dozen new updates and features. The Boba 3G is all about comfort for both you and your baby, and this is apparent in the unique features and attention to detail. Highly adjustable, this carrier is one size fits most. The Boba 3G is suitable for mom or dad, comfortably fitting heights from 5′ to 6’3″. The design also lends itself to either parent, attractive yet not overly feminine (try getting your husband to wear a wrap). The carrier can be worn on front or back with nicely padded shoulder straps and an adjustable waistband.
For baby, the Boba 3G has a comforting “hug” feel and a higher rise (2-3″ higher than other brands). This carrier works with newborns to toddlers, 7 – 45 lbs so it could quite possibly be the only carrier you will need. This is a change from the previous model which did not accommodate such little babies. The Boba 3G easily converts to an infant carrier without any inserts, cradling your newborn. It also has an additional adjustment to make breastfeeding easier — right in the carrier. And for your tired little one, there is a removable sleeping hood to block out any unwanted environment. For older children there are removable foot straps, which keep your kid in a comfortable position that is also good for the spine. This carrier is a sound investment for any new parent.
Many a time have I opted to take the stroller instead of my preferred method of baby-wearing simply due to storage. The thoughtful Boba 3G has a snap strap on the shoulder straps to hold your purse in place — no more falling purse straps. Want to leave your purse at home? The waistband has a pouch that can easily hold your smartphone or other items for easy access. There is also a zippered pouch perfect for a wallet, keys — whatever you need on a quick trip out.
Purchase your Boba 3G for $120 – $125 from Boba. If you are more of a wrap type, check out Boba’s Baby Wrap, suitable for newborns – 18 months. Free of buckles, straps or snaps, this is a simple wrap that is easy to master. The Baby Wrap is available for $48 – $65.
