a beauty resolution: strong and healthy nails {Julep }

By now you probably are already noticing who is sticking to their New Year resolutions are who is not.  Maybe you are falling victim to the mid-January slump… be strong!  I have a couple resolutions, one to be even more patient with my “spirited” 6 year old, another to drink more water and so on.  Now is also a great time to make a beauty resolution or two.  What have you been slacking on that you could improve?  What about those nails — looking a little ragged?  Julep has just the system to restore and condition your nails, so let’s start there.

We all have gripes with our nails, whether they peel, break or get ridgey. Julep hears your woes and has a couple solutions.  I sat down with freshly clipped, buffed nails and strengthening products from Julep: Nail Growth Revitalizing Serum and Nail Therapy, and began my beauty resolution.  It is the year of strong, healthy and smooth nails!

Our nail plate cells are made up of keratin, a type of protein composed of amino acids.  These proteins create strength, and, when married with oils and moisture, are cemented in place, creating our flexible nail. With this knowledge, Julep created their Nail Growth Revitalizing Serum, containing peptides that stimulate keratin genes and cell proliferation, thus a stronger, smoother nail.  This I applied to my clean nails first.  It didn’t take much to get the job done and it dried fast.  Julep says 2-3 weeks and you will see results.

Next is Julep’s Nail Therapy, which I especially love as it moonlights as a base coat.  Nail Therapy contains nourishing Vitamin E to further condition and strengthen your nails.  And, like I said before, it doubles as a perfect base coat.  I’m expecting more beautiful nails as a result of using this product religiously, but in the meantime I am just enjoying an even, chip-free polish. Can’t beat that.

These two products comprise the Nail Growth Revitalizing System, but I found it necessary to also include Julep’s Essential Cuticle Oil in my routine.  A blend of essential oils and Vitamin E, this oil creates strong cuticles that are soft to the touch.  While my nails are never known to be too weak, my cuticles require constant attention.  This oil has been a savior for me, giving me the refined, polished look my fingers deserve.

I finished up with a nude Julep polish, because I was in the mood for nude.  I’m looking forward to healthier nails and am sticking to my “resolutionary” guns this year.  This is one easy beauty resolution to commit to.  Shop at Julep.

Product was provided by Julep to facilitate this review; all opinions are 100% my own.
