light up your Valentine’s Day {ana candles} + giveaway

With Valentine’s Day approaching, it’s important think about the little details, like setting the mood.  Candles and diffusers are great to increase the pleasing scent of your space, and candles can do even more by casting beautiful light.  Who doesn’t look better in candlelight?  As you plan your meal, don’t forget to think about the ambiance.  There is not much more romantic than a candle-light dinner, am I right?  On a search around through the best taper candles, I found Ana Candles, a complany who sells only these beautiful striped candles.  The gorgeous candles are created with high-quality paraffin wax with inlaid color channels.  Paraffin has purposes beyond great Happy Hands and Feet spa treatments.  Paraffin has been getting a bad rap from soy and beeswax candles, but paraffin is actually a necessary by-product of oil refining, making it environmentally sound.  Ana Candles burn beautifully, with no smoke, and no running drip.  No smoke… at all?  Smoking candles are actually caused by low quality wax, over-wicking, air turbulence, or air starvation.  So as long as you are keeping your candles out of drafts, and not covering them, there should be no smoke.  The tapers have a burn time of 14 hours (quite a few dinners), and the pillars have a 30 hour burn time.  High quality candles for a high quality evening.

Ana’s Striped Candles first came about in 1994.  The idea and design of the striped taper was founded by Frank Weeden while on the New Jersey turnpike.  It was the first of its kind, transforming the classic taper candle, a staple of any home.  The candles are truly beautiful, coming in a mega-wide array of color combos to fit any color scheme or theme.  When I received my first Ana Candles, I marveled at the basic traits of symmetry and color richness that other companies do not achieve.  Ana Candles are simply gorgeous, plain and simple.  I’m not the first to notice as they were featured on Oprah Winfrey’s Holiday Gift Guide and also Good Morning America.   And, keep your eye’s peeled for Ana Candles in the upcoming movie adaption of Janet Evanovich’s One For The Money (love that series).  Join the candle revolution by bringing some of these beauties into your home. Don’t forget your friends; these American-made candles make for great gifts.  Since we associate colors with every holiday and occasion, they’re very appropriate.  At the Five Stripes website, you will find taper pairs for $24 and pillars for $18, a steal.

Three lucky winners will win their own set of Ana Candles Tapers.  To enter, simply go to Ana Candles and find your favorite color combination.  Come back to ITKM and leave your comment!

Hey! I just wanted to ask if you ever have any problems with hackers? My last blog (wordpress) was hacked and I ended up losing several weeks of hard work due to no backup. Do you have any solutions to protect against hackers?

First of all I want to say awesome blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask if you don’t mind. I was curious to find out how you center yourself and clear your thoughts prior to writing. I have had a difficult time clearing my mind in getting my ideas out there. I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are generally lost simply just trying to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or tips? Many thanks!
