an allergy elixir and life continues {Kleenex}
This post is part of a social shopper marketing insight campaign with Pollinate Media Group® and Kleenex but all my opinions are my own. #KleenexAllergy #pmedia http://cmp.ly/3/8vNxcO
Allergies. I’m stuffed up, my eyes are so itchy I can’t keep my contacts in and I’m sneezing right and left, but am I missing out on anything? Nope. Well, maybe some quality sleep, but I’m still hanging in there with my family, enjoying our crisp desert fall, hiking through nature and camping in the woods. For many, allergies are just a fact. The only thing you can do is be prepared, and so prepared I am. Thank you Kleenex.
I’m a multiple sneezer. As in sometimes I fall off stools in sneezing fits and I freak out when I’m driving and feel a sneeze (or 3) coming. Forget texting, the most dangerous person on the road is a multiple sneezer during allergy season! Now that my allergies are back, my sneezes are… more productive than normal and require mas facial tissues. Yes, I said productive. Gross, Sarah. Productive is good though because congestion pressure is just one of the worst things ever!
How do I deal? Kleenex, lots of Kleenex, and I stash them everywhere. Everyone has a box in their bathrooms, a pack in the car and a pack in their purse… but aren’t you forgetting something? How about a pack on your person, in your pocket? But, Sarah, isn’t that personal Pocket Pack too thick, you ask? Kleenex now offers a slim Wallet Pack, perfect for your pocket and ready to back you up when you need it most.
They open up conveniently like wallets. Cute.
I tossed around the idea of sharing my top secret allergy remedy tonic or not. Then, this week, I got hit REALLY hard with allergies. My head feels like a pressure cooker ready to explode, my throat is burned from mass amounts of nasal spray and overall… I just feel like poop. So, I have been downing my elixir and I just have to share, it’s only right.
When one is sick with allergies or anything else, one must take a good look at what they are consuming. Keep away from anything that will suppress your immune system, like fatty foods and added sugar. Add in powerhouse ingredients that will instead boost you up. Lemon is loaded with Vitamin C and immune boosting antioxidants, and also Hesperidin, a natural antihistamine. Turmeric contains a powerful antioxidant and anti-inflammatory substance. Black or Green Tea contains Quercetin, an antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-histamine phytonutrient. Ginger contains antihistamine and anti-inflammatory properties. Let’s put them all together in a warm, healing liquid, shall we?
Powerhouse Allergy Elixir
1 cup warm green tea
1/4 tsp turmeric
1 tsp raw honey (or more to taste, local honey is best)
1 inch piece ginger, grated
juice from half a ripe lemon
Throw everything into a blender for a few seconds to find a smooth consistency. Drink. Repeat.
On my nightstand these nights?
Kleenex, Powerhouse Allergy Elixir and lemon water. Drink, blow, repeat.
This is my set-up when I am home, but I am not always home, of course. I have a husband and two kids and a life. It is fall so we are out camping every chance we get. Camping = nature = allergies but I love the family time spent together so much, I don’t care — I’m just prepared! Now that Kleenex makes these super duper cute Wallet Packs that are slim enough for any back pant pocket, I’m covered. And now, for the night camping butt shot (you lucky guys!). The corduroy leggings, btw, are from SPANX’s new line of fashionable leggings… review coming soon.
For all your allergy season Kleenex needs, Target has you covered. Click over here for a coupon to buy a Kleenex 4pack and get free wallet pack (2-pk) or pocket pack (3-pk). I used this coupon so I know it works — while supplies last, of course. Keep in the know by liking Kleenex on Facebook and following on Twitter.

The very heart of your writing whilst sounding agreeable in the beginning, did not sit perfectly with me personally after some time. Somewhere throughout the paragraphs you were able to make me a believer but only for a short while. I however have got a problem with your jumps in assumptions and you might do well to help fill in those gaps. If you actually can accomplish that, I could undoubtedly end up being amazed.
