Advanced Solutions {Safety 1st} + Giveaway
Safety 1st has a new line of products called Advanced Solutions, which are baby products designed and engineered to deliver superior performance with quality materials, ergonomic design and the commit to constantly undergo product testing and improvement. Pretty impressive in my book.
For some reason, I’m picky about my nail clippers. There’s a certain feel to clippers that I prefer and up until now I’ve used the same clippers on my kids that I registered for when I had my first daughter seven years ago. Crazy, right? Let me tell you a little bit about the Advanced Solutions Smooth Clip Nail Clippers, because I finally put my other pair into retirement after my first use. First of all it’s a multitasking item because you can see that clear guard under the clipper, well it’s your best friend. It not only prevents the lever handle from accidentally going from side to side (I HATE THAT! it’s hard enough to get your little one to sit still, let alone having to keep adjusting your clippers) but it also….get this…..helps to catch nail clippings! Seriously, how many of you scramble to find all the tiny nail clippings after you’re done grooming your kid? It’s awful! If you pull out the clear guard you will see a storage compartment for your emery boards under the clippers as well. The Large handle has this extremely soft material that keeps your finger in place. It’s comfy and helps you do your job quickly and accurately. You can easily see why I ditched my old school clippers after trying this one out.
Next up is the Advanced Solutions Baby’s Oral Care Set. Did you know that tooth decay in children is becoming more common and can lead to greater risk of cavities later in permanent teeth? Your toddlers can’t brush their teeth themselves, so please help them keep their young gums healthy. In this set you’ll find an Infant Toothbrush/Gum Stimulator, which helps efficiently clean gums and new teeth. The flexible head helps you still hit the right spot even when your little one is kicking and screaming. Plus the soft rubber nubs help to massage and clean sore teething gums. The Toddler Toothbrush is designed to fit either your hand or your toddlers. The wide handle helps them learn how to brush their own teeth and the soft bristles will make sure their little new teeth are sparkly clean.
My favorite of all the items is the Advanced Solutions No Touch Temporal Thermometer. I was raving about this item on a Safety 1st Twitter party. This thermometer allows you to take their temperature without even touching them!!! Simply turn it on, place near your child’s forehead and hold down the arrow button. You’ll hear a little beep to let you know you’re in good range for a reading. Release the button and there’s your reading. At first I found this hard to believe, so I tested it out with my other thermometers and it was 100% accurate! The large backlit display is easy to read and even tells you if it detects a high temperature. This thermometer can be used to measure food and bath temps as well. Just hold it an inch or so from the water/food and get your reading. Holy multitasker! If that wasn’t handy enough, the memory allows you to recall the past 10 readings. Great for those times you have to call the doctor and give them history. Also, on the back of the thermometer, you’ll find a fever chart. This is my go-to thermometer for the entire family.

My favorite of these products is the no touch thermometer. Having a child with autism means you have to struggle to do some of the simplest tasks- Right now we take his temp. with an ear thermometer and he HATES it.
I would like the thermometer. With 3 kids, anything to make my life a bit easier is a plus!!
