adaptogenic cold brew smoothie

The day I discovered cold brew smoothies was a good day. Why it hadn’t occurred to me to merge the two things I have nearly every morning is beyond me. I need a few things to start my day right and that is: caffeine, adaptogens and superfoods. All three of these things boost my energy and prepare me for my busy days.
It has always been important to me to buy organic, sustainably sourced coffee. Only the best coffee for me or I’ll pass. My mornings have been pretty busy lately and I’ve found myself opting for a cold brew concentrate most every day. I buy Chameleon Cold-Brew Concentrate, which is the perfect addition to my morning smoothies. Chameleon Cold-Brew is the nation’s first and best cold brew. They gently roast the world’s finest, specialty grade, organic beans and then steep the coffee grounds for more than 12 hours. The result is a super smooth, low acid, high caffeine cold brew that is divine.
The flavor of Chameleon Cold Brew Concentrate is so pure and so smooth. You can also find this product in other flavors, but I love using the black coffee concentrate and just adding it to my favorite nut milk over ice. Morning (or afternoon) coffee couldn’t be simpler.
Adaptogens. Have you heard of these? Adaptogens are healing plants that help your body resist stressors. As a person who is biologically programmed to experience anxiety, I’ve relied heavily on adaptogens to help me out. I’ll do anything to avoid taking pharmaceuticals and I’m here to tell you, these natural medicines DO work. I’ve felt the difference.
A little while back, I had my irises read by someone trained in iridology. It’s believed that we can actually find physical problems in our body through mapping our irises. Mostly, weaknesses, toxin build up and illnesses are shown in the eye through dark spots and color changes. It’s really interesting so I recommend trying it for yourself!
The first thing noted on my report is that my irises have what’s called “nerve rings”. These signify a weak central nervous system and people with them tend to be prone to anxiety. Incorporating adaptogens into my diet was the recommendation. Since then, I’ve tried many of them and have had really awesome results, especially with ashwagandha. I take it in a liquid capsule form every morning and I also put the powder in my morning smoothie!
adaptogens to add to your smoothies
Here are a few great adaptogens that you can buy in powder form, easily incorporating them into your morning smoothie:
- panax ginseng
- astragalus root
- licorice root
- tulsi (holy basil)
- reishi mushrooms
- cordyceps mushrooms
Stress and anxiety really take their toll on your body in many ways. One result is loss of energy, so if you incorporate adaptogens into your diet, you’re likely to notice a boost in energy. While we’re talking about a boost in energy, what’s better for a boost of get-up-and-go than an organic cold brew coffee?
Chameleon Cold-Brew Coffee is expertly crafted and brewed to perfection, using only sustainably grown and ethically sourced organic specialty grade coffee beans. We’re doing our small part to help the big picture.
Incorporate your cold brew into your morning or afternoon routine simply with a nut milk (recommended ratio is 2 parts concentrate, 1 part nut milk) or into your on-the-go smoothie. Another cool way is in a chia pudding. I always keep a chia pudding in my fridge to either top my smoothie or to drizzle over a fruit salad. Next time you make a vanilla chia pudding, add a splash of Chameleon Cold-Brew Concentrate for a little wake-me-up!
Find Chameleon Cold-Brew at Kroger stores (Ralph’s here in Southern California) in the refrigerated section with other coffee products.
