a swim lounger and a plum spritzer mocktail

Ladies and gentlemen, Monday’s forecast here in Palm Springs, CA is 120-121° depending on your source. You read that right. Needless to say, deep summer has arrived in the desert and we’re all stocking up on refreshments and heading to the pool. Desert life = pool life and I feel so happy that I finally found the perfect recliner float! I’m a bit of a pool float junkie, I have way more than I would like to disclose here, but never have I found a more comfortable float than this Swimways Spring Float Recliner:
I feel like I need to insert a warning right away – once you sink into this float, you won’t want to get out. Do not get into this float if you have anything to do in the next hour at least… you’ve been warned! When you have kids and a pool, you accumulate a lot of funky shaped floats. I have a ton and I love them, I do, they look cute and the kids love bouncing around on them. Thing is, most afternoons, I just want to relax in a functional float and I definitely want to hold my drink.
I wish I could say my summer days have been filled with margaritas, but with my daughter in a 6 week long summer camp that lasts all day, I have to keep my wits about me. To ease the pain, I have been experimenting with fresh, bubbly mocktails. My favorite as of late is what I call a Plum Spritzer. Simply start with some summer-fresh plums…
Add something bubbly like ginger beer, sparkling water or a hard cider if you want it alcoholic…
And you’re done! I do suggest adding some grated ginger, though, if you are not using ginger beer. Ginger and plums really *pOp* when together. The lemon slice is optional, but I always like a little citrus kick. It also brings out the plum flavor even more.
Now, the final step is to grab your Swimways Spring Float Recliner and head out to the pool. So let’s talk details about this rad float. I particularly love that I can sit up comfortably, giving me a better view while I play lifeguard watching the kiddos. This is due to the mesh seat in combination with the inflated back and head rest. While part of your body is cooling in the water, the rest is up and out of the water. For really hot climates, this is ideal!
For your feet, there is an inflated ottoman to perch or lay your feet upon. You can also drop your feet through the hole if you’d rather dangle them in the water to cool off. This is a really smart feature as I’m always trying to hang my legs off the sides of flat floats to cool off, which puts me in an awkward position.
The SwimWays Spring Float Recliner is the only float on the market with the patented Inner Spring Technology, which allows it to be easily inflated, closed and carried. It folds into a circle and springs back out into shape when you want to use it. It also comes with a carrying bag with handle. This is great if you’re taking the float on vacation or to the river as it takes up very little room in the car while traveling!
