benders 150x150 Boon: meal time fun

I love Boon, they speak to my soul. They come up with some of the most amazing items with clean, sleek lines and fun colors. We’ve previously raved about the Boon Potty Bench and how our girls love them. My daughter loves to press the button on the Boon Flo to create huge bubbles in her bath. Well, they also have a great feeding line as well.

Their Bender spoon is oh so cool. I used to buy those metal handled spoons with the soft end to them from the grocery store in bulk, but the problem was that when my daughter was ready to begin feeding herself, not a single bit of food would end up in her mouth! The Benders are designed to work with your child’s developing motor skills. You can bend the handles so that when your child grasps the spoon, they have an easier time bringing the spoon to their mouth. As your child develops you can lessen the tilt on the spoon until eventually you keep the handle straight.

Boon’s Fluid sippy cup has a unique ergonomical two-handed grip that’s ideal for little ones hands. The spout is angled to require less head tilting when they’re trying to drink from it. It’s dishwasher safe and holds up to 9 oz of fluids. The spout is more geared towards early sippy cup users as the flow is not extremely fast.

The Catch Bowl is one of my new favorites! I can’t tell you how many times that my daughter has eaten cereal or oatmeal and I’m pushing her as far as I can into the table with her bowl on the edge to prevent as many spills as possible. Nonetheless, despite my efforts, there’s always a few spoonfuls that miss her mouth and end up on her clothes, the floor or the table. This is exactly why I fell in love with the Catch Bowl. The built-in food catcher extends out towards your child and with it’s tilted feature, the fallen items fall directly back into the bowl! I could’ve probably even used this during my late night ice cream binges while pregnant! If that wasn’t enough, the bottom of the bowl has a handy suction cup feature so that the bowl stays firmly in place while your little one eats. So even an accidental nudge won’t send the bowl flying off the table.

Kokopax: there’s a new bag in town

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

I had a really hard time finding a carrier I like with my daughter. I wish I had known about the Kokopax carrier. This baby positions the baby at eye-level making it easy for them to see everything. Made from a lightweight 2.7lb aluminum frame, you won’t feel any additional weight when using it. I always needed an extra person to help me get my daughter into a carrier, but with the kickstand, it’s easy to load and unload by yourself without fearing your little one will tip out. With a 5-point harness and adjustable frame this carrier is safe and comfortable for both baby and parent with the added bonus of no sore back when using it. They just expanded their carriers to include an eco-classic carrier and a city carrier.

Kokopax couldn’t just stop at their carriers, they just released a brand new line of diaper totes that have been selling out as fast as they can make them. Made from 100% cotton canvas with a custom designed water-resistant lining, durable webbing and chocolate leather accents, this baby will function as a purse, diaper bag, beach tote or even a weekender bag. The interior has three extra-deep pockets, a zippered pocked, beverage compartment and closes using one had with a strong magnet closure. Hurry though, they just got a few back in stock!

Tiny Tongs

tinytongs 300 225x300 Tiny TongsWhen your child begins to eat finger foods, they also have this very strong desire to do things by themselves. Meal times can be a very frustrating process for parents as you stand back and fight the urge to help them feed themselves. Food typically ends up everywhere. Mom and entrepreneur, Cary Bice, dealt with these same frustrations. This is why Cary and her husband, Justin, created Tiny Tongs.

Tiny Tongs are recommended for children one to five years old.  They come in pink, blue, yellow and orange. Tiny Tongs are non toxic (lead free, BPA free, Phthalate free) and are dishwasher safe. I was able to try out Tiny Tongs with my daughter and she loved them! It was effortless to pick up peaches, noodles or oranges with her Tiny Tongs.

Your little ones will see how easy it is to feed themselves with the non-slip ergonomical grip. The posable grip to be customized for every child and will help them gain confidence in the ability to feed themselves.
